Hardness in tummy

Hi mummies, anyone encountered tummy hardness nearing labour?

I have been having that since yesterday - saw my gynae today and he mentioned that labour should be due in a week's time. Am currently 38.5 weeks pregnany.

Any mummies with similar symptoms or tips to share? Much appreciated :)

Am feeling so nervous and anxious.....

Hi pinkyhippo, I'm in my 37th week and been experiencing that too. Especially in the middle of the when I wake up to pee. Asked gynae about it he said it's normal. But if it hardens and softens every ten minutes, then those may be slight contractions...and he asks to monitor them..

Anybody else has anything to share?

hi i wan2noe,

perhaps you wish to check with your gynae. i didn have the tummy hard feeling all this while - only started v recently.. my gynae said it could be a sign of labour..

suggest u check it out :)

Hihi, actually I've been wondering why my tummy feels tight and hard all these while too..

I know can't be braxton hicks as we don't get those during early terms. Plus the tummy does not suddenly harden like a rock, it just feels kind of hard and tight all the while..

Hihi,

I wanted to ask the same thing.. The feeling is like tightening around the tummy and it happens more frequently when I'm walking.. It does happen too at times when I'm sitting down... Could that be Braxton Hicks? My EDD is still like 2 months away...

Maybe is because baby has no space already or her position ? :)
My baby always move & then get into a position which make my tummy hard & uncomfortable but after awhile i felt ok , haven been feeling any contractions :( So afraid of the real one .

You could be right..I was rather thin when got pregnant (43 kg), not much excess skin I guess. Especially after food, tummy will get tight and hard..Not much space perhaps..:001_302:

Your symptoms are like what the books described as real pre-labour pains leh! I guess now if your contractions or cramps come more regularly, you'd better get ready for hospital soon! :wong29:

:( False alarm , not regular and gone ! So confusing , is this early signs of labour ? i never get BH or contractions at all during my whole pregnancy .. I only know it will be more & more painful ( books , magazines ) & would get better if is false alarm so i never want to alert anyone ..

I'm having BH when i reach my 30 weeks onwards till now...sometime can be painful also.. i also have mens cramp... but doc say that if it don't carry on for a long time is ok.... unless u feel the pain is more & more or the cramp is getting more & more painful...& the pain just won't go off.... then meaning u r in labour....maybe just take a warm shower or drink warm water.. it help to relieve....
