high fever @ 40'c and above.

Dear mummies, my 4yo girl is having a fever attack. Seen doctor. Given brufen and dhamol. Had been giving both as doc's instruction but the fever is not coming down. Also kept sponging her le. Feel so heartache. Not sure if sending her to hospital, will they give injection to bring the temperature down rapidly?

How many days is the fever already? have you tried suppository? If after suppository the fever still never go down,better see a PD.

Have u brought her to the hospital alrdy? pls do so if u have not. few mths ago my son has uo and down fever for a week, hit up to 39.7 and pd admitted him to hospital and blood test showed that he was down with 2 viruses..

my younger girl (2011) just recovered froma bad flu, her fever also went up to 40 degrees. it took her both dharmol and bufen to bring down her fever. 4 days later then fever only subsided. how is your baby now?

My dear don't wait ..send her to hospital now.!!!
I would suggest u go to KK as they are more specialist for children. Last year my neighbor had the same experience like yours.. They went to normal GP but son fever still 38 above after 2 weeks they found out son is down with dengue fever.. Tell u this not to scare u but just want u to be more cautious..

My son 2yrs old too have fever maintaining at 38.9.. only goes up to 40degrees. Went to KKH as he was coughing till he vomited and fever given ibrufen.. panadol all no use. Went to GP, suppository given half doze fever went down right after faster go for flu vaccine and take Scotts Emulsion Cod Liver oil Orginal flavor and it really me n hubby a lot and he is happier! For you faster go GP. Hope gets well soon.
