Just wondering which is more effective, eastern or western remedy, so that I can focus more on that & save some money.

Hi duhduh,

I am also thinking of seeing a TCM near my house -Eu Yang Sang but the medicine is really expensive. Consultation is $12. And medicine/day is $7. Sounds ok? Wait till you multiply this by 14 days which is the average dosage the doctor will give to people who are trying to 'tiao yang' their body & the staggering amount is $104.86!!! And if you take the medicine for 1 month, the cost will be $224.70 & this is only for 1 person! (Guplz!)
I was thinking maybe it is more cost effective to stick to either gynae OR TCM...

Any advice from TTC buddies out there?

Wah thats expensive...but then again, gynae doesnt provide much medicine to 'tune' our body...whereas TCM does. Esp for our hubbies..dont think got much treatment available for them whereas I hope TCM has....
Still thinkg which TCM to go....

Hi,

my main problem is my egg is too small and my FSH is towards high side.

I'm seeing both TCM and Gynae. Currently see Dr Xia Rong(for 6 mth liao) of Yu Ren Seng at Paragon. She specialises in this field.

Yes, I agree the medicine is expense, but I believe it is effective. My body can tell, such as:
- my mense return back to 28 - 30 days cycle instead of 24-26 days
- my mense back to normal flow. Before I see her, I realise my menses flow is quite light even on day 1 and 2
- I use to have cold leg and hand once in the air-con room. Now will not have this sympton
- when I doing a scanning, my egg is bigger compare to the past

She only comes to Singapore 6 days in a month, as she has her own clinic in Shanghai...that is to say, you have to make appointment in advance, esp if your want to see her on the only saturday of the month.

I can't say she is 100% good as I myself does not have any good news too! But I got 2 friends get pregnant after 3 months and 12 months.

Good Luck to everyone.

'Paragon'??? Wow. Sounds a whole lot expensive! If normal Eu Yang Sang charges $8 plus for follow-up consultation, I wonder how much Paragon costs? 3 digits?!
And after adding costs of medication, how much does the bill come up to? Is it a whopping digit$???

I found this topic and ,must reply..

I am seeing both!
We have been TTC for 7 mths this october and started seeing and taking TCM since September. Today, was also my first visit to a gynae as I wanted to be sure I am ok.

Did an ultrasound, no cyst or lesions in sight, did a vaginal can and doc says everything seems fine with no 'blockages' so I'd have to go back to see him next week to confirm that I ovulated properly, though from my BBT chart, he said my temps are looking good.

We also brought along my hubby's SA report. Luckily we have done so much and doc prescribe Provironum to hubby to improve his 'army' quality. He didnt give me anything.

I am going back to see my TCM doc on Wednesday and I have been taking Chinese medicine everyday for maintenance too. I m sure hubby needs to take some TCM too once he can make time to see the TCM doc too.

Doc explained to me this morning, in order for a couple to be fertile and conceive easily, both the hub and wife must score 5-5.. so now, I am probably 4.9 and my hub a 3.5, so we must work harder and we may take slightly longer than others.

we have spent $20 per visit to TCM = S$60 altogether
TCM medicine to date = S$39
today's gynae and scans and hubby's medicine cost = S$171

I am probably kiasu but I think I have done all I can. Now.. it's just me having to be patient, hopeful and pray a good tadpole meets a good bean! :wong29:

Hi Tig&P

I see Dr Chen Qiu Mei at Thong Chai Medical Institution and it's a free clinic.. meaning to say, you'd drop any amount you'd want after each visit, I'd normally drop either S$10 or S$20 and that's inclusive of the herbs. If the herbs are to be taken daily, you'd just go any medical hall to replenish.. between S$6 to $7 per packet when I buy them at Boon keng lor...

Hubby did his Semen Analysis from Parkway Health at Mount E for S$50.

As for Gynae, I went to see Dr Gordon Tan at Gleneagles.
What's a/m??/ :D

I am seeing Dr Chan from Ban Choon Chan at Marine Parade to tiao my body cos I had miscarriage in early oct. Now waiting for my 1st AF, then can TTC. Will be seeing my Gynae in 3 month's time.

So far I find the TCM medicine works quite well. Less tired, feel less cold, more energy. Best of all I only need to eat the brew medicine once a week and only see him once a month. I went on 12-Oct, next appointment would be 1 month later after my AF clears up.

Will continue to see him since I am responding well to his treatment. :wong29::wong29:
