Hi liaocarol, 8 follicles is a lot, my doc said he is happy with 1-2 follicles, in fact if 3-4 follicles, he may just skip for tat mth cos chances of multiples is high n it's dangerous. Yah, I only knew 8 eggs were actually too many from this forums but my gynae never mention to me abt that. But tks God for his grace I am 6wks preggie now.
I injected 100mg each time from D2 to D9.

I didn't have any pain on my stomatch after IUI. My symptoms were big abd sore breasts and sensitive nipples. And I tot my menus was abt to come so I was very worried. I got brown spotting though from D11 for 4 days, amount was little and it was on and off. Heard from forum this may be implementation bleeding...
I did HCG test on D10 and on D12 was confirmed I am preggie.

Hi,

I am new here, just abit about myself... dear husband and I have been ttcing for around 3 yr +. I went through HSG and everything seen good... Am also ovulating normally but dear husband SA result says his seman is extremely viscous. Another words too thick n his sperm couldn't swim out to actually fertilize my egg. His motility is only 35%. And so my current gynae suggested us to do normal IUI.

The thing is my gynae is quite popular and she always have lots of patient. She is good but she just dont have the time for me.. Every time when I go for my appointment, she will always make it short... Like 5mins or so and I dont't get the chance to ask her question. I always ended up looking for ans through forum and other website.

Will really appreciate if someone can recommend me any gynae... As I would like to seek for second opinion and also so that I can clear all my doubts. Would prefer a female dr... Thanks.

Saw in your earlier post regarding your gynae... Can you pls share abit about her? Does she explain when you've question? Is she specialize in fertility? Is her charges ex?

Kevangie: depends on where u stay cos if the place u stay is too far from gynae will b troublesome cos IUI u need to go back every wk or mayb even every Other day... IUI is better choice than normal sex cos they washed the sperm n the semen blockage is gone.

My gynae is at TMC level 4. How I knew this gynae? Coz I prefer female gynae so google search for it and saw her profile and read ppl comments abt her, the feedback were quite ok but exp.
I dont ask many questions coz don't know what to ask. Everytime gynae check always say good. And she will explain to me where am I at this stage and what will be in the next stage etc. My hubby says that she could do it better but I am quite comfortable w her checking. I think comfortable w ur gynae is very important.
I think she is also specialized in IUI coz she does this service. Not too sure if she is famous in IUI/IVF. but in TMC, there is a male gynae specialized in IUI/IVF, but I won't go for male gynae.
My gynae charge is quite exp. I spent abt 5k+ for my SO-IUI.
My girlfriend's friend who had bad exp w her though, she did 2 times SO-IUI and failed. She comments her as money digger haaaa. She then changed to another gynae and conceived naturally.
So again, it's each individual opinion. For me each doc r qualified professional, we should follow on their advise. But comfortability talking to ur gynae and gynae to give u enough time and care r the most important thing for me. So I am still stick w her despite her chrg...

Liaocarol: Thanks for all the details.. I think I agree that ur gynae's charges is ex.. Cos I saw a couple of post that SO-IUI will cost around $2k+ and urs cost u around $5k. N yes u need to be comfortable with ur gynae... I m actually quite comfortable with my gynae for the fact that I have already been with her for 10 yrs +. The only reason I m looking for another gynae is becos am not too sure if my gynae is gd at fertility treatment. All her patient seens to be already pregnant.

Babymoo: I am actually staying at the east and working at the west n thought Thomas is not too far for me. Do u have any suggestion?
Like what u say... IUI usually needs to visit the gynae very often.. The funny thing is tat my current gynae never even ask me to go see her tat often. I usually only go once a month.. Around CD 12. N she will usually say not time yet and ask me to go home n use OPK. N if I get a positive on a saturday... I won't be able to do IUI till the next cycle. I feel tat I m really wasting a lots of time cos she doesn't really observe me...

Btw, have anyone heard of Dr WK Tan? She is also from TMC.

I have 2 doc.... My gynae is at Yishun Chong pang... His charges for so IUI is les than 2.5k and I had 15jabs... My fertility specialist is at Thomson medical centre Lvl 5 dr cheng... He is well known for ivf n a lot of successful cases... =)
Its better to find a good doc but also near to you if my you will give up sooner cos the travel time is terrible

Thanks for the encouragement Angela! Still keeping my fingers crossed! But I dun feel "pregnant" at all, haha! I also had cramps now n then frm Day 6 onwards, the last cycle was worse, I had cramps throughout the 2WW. How are u? Ur 2 wks almost up right? baby dust to u!! ;D

thanks for th e detailed information about the injections. that means, for cost of puregeon injections will mostly likley be $800 plus per cycle, not including the IUI procedure yet etc ?

Hi flower, it depends on how much med u nid to inject per time n how often u nid to inject. My one tube/box of Puregon costs ard $450 n quantity is 400. I used to inject 5 times per cycle frm Day 2 for alt days, each time quantity is 75. So each tube can use like 5 jabs. Last mth I did 6 jabs altogether n this mth 7 jabs. My gynae told me next mth to inject 100 each time n prob on Day 2,4,6,8 n 10 then see him on Day 12, n may still nid for Day 12n 14, depends on the scan then. So if it's 100per jab, I can only use 4 times per tube. My IUI procedure is $550 n nid to plus a gyane consultation charge which is like $60. So total abt $1000-$1300 per cycle?

I think my gynae didn't ask me to inject daily, etc, cos he doesn't wan to overstimulate n make me over ovulate, cos he said he aiming for 1-2 gd follicles w gd lining, if 3-4 follicles he wld consider abandon tat cycle for IUI altogether.

Hi Angela, y u doc ask u wait 3 wks so long ah? My doc asked me to do HPT on Day 14, if negative n menses still not here then test again on Day 16. I used to think it's better to wait for menses to come n if late for significant no. Of days then test, so it's more or less quite sure preg. But realized I was wrong. Cos then when the result is neg, I am much more disappointed cos expectations has risen over the waiting days. N my menses usually comes the day after I tested, think maybe it's I too stressed or uptigh then delayed. So this mth I decided to just test on Day 14, if neg, then just wait for menses to come or continue to test daily until menses comes, like tat if suddenly one day the result becomes positive, it will be a pleasant surprise. Lol! Just speaking frm experience.

Today is Day 10 counting frm the Day after my IUI as Day 1, so will test on Sat morning when I am overseas! Hee! ;P But seriously, every time people say stay positive, but frm my 3.5 yrs of actively trying to conceive, I feel that it not only does not help me get preg, it really brought me on an emotional roller coaster each mth. So I am really not pinning much hopes, tho doc said w this kind of sperm results also can conceive thru IUI, I still feel that technically IVF seems to give higher hopes as the sperms no nid to swim n penetrate into the egg on their own.

Ya I dun think it's fair to u that u had to skip the cycle because it falls on a sat, it's like wasting all the money n pain incurred. Actually I also didn't see my gyane tat often, I am doing SO-IUI but only see my gynae twice a mth. He will see me on Day10 or 12, then scan n tell me when he predicts my eggs wld be mature n we fixed n appt for the procedure, I did my last one on a sat. He then gave me the triggershot n asked me to inject at hm 30+ hrs before the procedure to make sure the eggs are released within the next 48hrs, then just nice for the procedure. After that go hm n rest n when my menses comes, call n make appt for Day 12 while start injections at hm frm Day 2.

But I agree tat it's better to get a doc who specializes in assisted reproduction, not only that I think they are more experience in this area. On the emotional part, when I went KK last time to see the doc, I feel terrible seeing so many preg women or women w newborns, I dunno how to explain. But when I went to a private fertility clinic n saw people who are TTC, taking injections, etc, I feel tat I am not alone. N when I see preg women or newborns there, I feel encouraged cos I wld like to think that they have successfully conceived thru assisted reproduction n maybe one day I wld be like them. Maybe I think too much but this is how I feel.

Yes Angela! We both jiayou! I really wish u will have gd news tml! May all baby dust fall on u! But dun stress urself k? Whatever is the result, know that when it is the right time, it will be our turn. If it is not the time yet, at least we know tat we are trying to optimize our chances by doing our part w all these efforts.

I was trying to make an appointment with Dr Sheila Loh but her appointment is full till next yr Mar...Guess she is just too popuplar. Worst of all, even my current gynae is going on leave...
Anyway i manage to make an appointment with Dr LK Yap tomorrow at Mt E. He is recommendated by one of my fren. She say tat he is one of the popular fertility specialist. Gg to give it a try cos if i dont catch this cycle, then i think i have to wait till feb.

FYI.... Do take note tt mt e charges r very high.... So doc fee including when u r pregnant till give burth mt e charges r the highest among mt A , TMC.... Cos u might like to do a bit of calculations first before deciding ... If not later end up burning a big deep hole in ur pocket =)

No.. you are not thinking too much cos this is exactly how i feel too. It's true tat at least when we are in a fertility clinic we know tat we are not alone. N alot of people dont understand tat for people like us who doesn't conceive easily needs lots of love and support and sometime all we need is a listening ear. But when you share with people who can conceive so easily they will always tell you not to think abt it and it will happen. Sorry to say that.. its all B.Sh*t. Hehehe..

Anyway... which Dr did you go to?
