Hahaha... Then when they talk u also don't listen loh.. Wat goes around comes around.

Wow it seem like IVF is quite confusing hor. Don't think too much after all u have already come so far.. And u won't want to stress ur body out at this stage rite...?

Got used le... Won't stressed =)
Hi,

I just gave birth 3 months ago after 3 yrs of marriage. I tried for a baby since married but didn't go for IVF or whatsoever at hospital. Instead I went for CTM for fertility at Chung Hwa Medical Institution at Tao Payoh. In this clinic the physician gave me liquid medicine to balance my hormone. Becides taking this medicine I also drank milk anmum for pregnant women coz it contains folic acid. Now I'm a mother to a baby boy..
Most important of all don't be stress & relax. When time comes, you will be blessed with baby surely....

I went to CTM for 6 months or so, I also got massage coz according to the physician I had weak womb. But this massage is not at CTM, I did privately.

Hi all,

Just happened to see this thread in the forum and would like to share my IUI experience to encourage those who are TTC-ing.

I married at a young age of 23 and was trying for a baby since then as my hubby loves kids. Everyone tot that it will be easy for us to have babies since both of us were young (hubby 24 yrs old). I got pregnant 1 year later however suffered a miscarriage. I was desavated but we didn't give up hope. We kept trying for the next 3 years however to no avail. We went to different gynaes for help, did all the tests, ate all the supplements, did all what we should do and nothing wrong was found in both of us.

Just when I was about to give up, my colleague recommend me to Prof PC Wong in NUH who is the expert in infertility. Again, both of us have to go thru all the tests and nothing wrong was found. So Prof Wong started to ask us to do it the natural way by monitoring my ovaluation period. The tough part is as my menses are irregular, my ovaluation period varies. So after 12 days of my menses, I have to visit him 1-3 days apart so that he can use the v-scan to see if I am ovaluating. We tried for 3 months and still not preggy.

Then Prof Wong suggested to try IUI. What I can say is he is not a very encouraging doc as he doesn't want to put our hopes too high. He kept emphasing that the chances of conceive especially for the first time is only 8% (unlike IVF 32%). However he don't encourage us to do IVF without trying IUI first. So after discussing with my hubby, we decided to go ahead with IUI.

The process was very smooth. Maybe it was becoz Prof Wong is very experienced, I didn't feel any discomfort throughout the whole process. After the procedures, he still emphasize on the 8% successs rate and ask me not to pin my hopes too high. :tlaugh:And also, he didn't even tell me much about the 2ww thingy at all! So I was out of the clinic, feeling normal, not much excitement after hearing him and continue with my daily routine. I remember even organising 2 events over the weekends due to work during the 2ww.

After 3 weeks, I noticed I was getting tired easily, just the same symptoms as my 1st pregnancy so I did a test kit and realised I was preggy! My hubby and I were so surprised and can't believe we are that 8% Prof Wong mentioned. However due to my previous miscarriage, I was very paranoid over this baby. And Prof Wong is very kind and detailed and requested me to take 2 injections every 3 days throughout the 1st trimester to protect the baby.

Now my baby is already 7 weeks old and is a healthy and happy baby. Just want to encourage all of you, although the chances might sound small to you but you never try you never know. Keep an open mind and Jiayou! :wewink:

Hi flower99,

Have you seen Dr Yap?
Hi,Kevangie,

Long time no online cos hv been quite busy during year-end. I hv seem him. since my menses came this mth :)o10:). Though I would say 1st appointment is mostly on investigation, i brought my previous IUI results. But I felt he is quite a thorough doc and he is quite patient with all my queries as well.

After clearing all the blood test etc, he suggested me to try for SO-IUI in feb.. For this mth, would be resting and trying natural first..... I think I need a break as well cos I have been quite disappointed with my last results.

How about your visit ?

Hi Ladies,

I'm new here and this is my first post.

I stumbled upon this thread and would like to find out which gynaes have you guys gone to for IUI? How long did you try to conceive naturally before deciding to go to IUI?

I have been trying for a few months and because I have vaginisimus, I find it very hard to have sex. Am wondering if this is affecting my ability to conceive and if going for IUI may help me.

Time is not on my side and both my hubby and I are yearning terribly for a baby.

Any info from you ladies will be very much appreciated!

Hi Mopeey,

For me, i go to Dr Yap at Mt E for my IUI and me and dh have been ttcing for abt 3-4 yrs already... not too sure abt ur situation but there's no harm seeing a gynae.. and i think that it's better for the Dr to advise you.

Hi Mopeey,

I just started seeing Prof P C Wong at NUH last Dec for fertility issues. Will be starting on natural IUI soon. He's been encouraging so far and my hubby and I are very comfortable with him. We like it that he explains everything clearly and systematically. If you've not seen any fertility specialist before, it'll be good to see one to get some advice.

Hi kevangie, Babymoo and Min81,

Thanks so much for your valuable input. Since we have only been trying for 4 months and I am currently ovulating, I thought I'd give it a go again this month. Praying really hard cos this month, I'm actually experience some ovulation spotting and read online that this is quite a good indicator that I'm ACTUALLY ovulating!

Btw, min81, can I ask what do you mean by natural IUI?

Babymoo, if you don't mind me asking, at what age did your doc advised you to go for IUI? I have just passed 36 so as you can see, I'm no longer in the "prime" age for conceiving and giving birth!! Haha!

Thanks,
Mopeey

Hi Mopeey,

The doctor says a natural cycle of IUI is where no medication or injections are used to trigger ovulation. My last test results were quite good and I'm 31, so he recommended that I try this out first. I just went for my Day 12 scan this morning and the doctor says I'm ready to do the procedure already. So I'm going back to the hospital later for an injection (Ovidrel) and the IUI procedure will be done on Wed morning. Kinda excited, hope it turns out well :)

Oh and just to share, my friend conceived naturally at 40. =)

Hi min81,

Your friend will be a great motivator for me!

I guess I can only blame ourselves for not trying earlier :(

I just tried naturally again this month (my fertile period has just past). So fingers crossed. I suppose if it is not successful, I will seriously consider trying natural IUI or whatever the doctor advise. I guess for me, age is an issue.

Have any of you seen TCM to "adjust" and strengthen your body?

Hi Ladies,

Would like to check, just had IUI done last Wed, so far it's just 5dpIUI.. I started feeling some soreness in my breasts from yesterday.. Is that normal?? Did anyone experience the same thing?

Hi Mopeey,

I did take TCM with my hubby last year for abt 6 mths.. I decided to stop as my hubby had an allergic reaction to it during the last mth.. I'm not sure if it's related, but I had my tests done by Prof Wong the following mth after I stopped, and the results were pretty gd.. Maybe it's cos of the 6 mths that I had taken it?? :)

Baby dust to all!!
