Hello everyone...im new here.....came across this column after doing some research on my own..I ve been married for 1yr 4 mths and have been trying to conceive since then.but however unsuccessful..went to kkh and some bld test and found out that that my prolactin was high..my hubby offering was not that good of quality either and the best way for us is to do ivf..I started my lucrin injection on the 4th or march and the nurse told me come back for bld test and vagina scan after 2weeks..during which my menses will come fr the last time.. (according to the nurse).wen we came fer the bood test and scan we were told that the bld test was normal but however I have a cyst which it didnt burst (shud have burst)The nurse said probably because my menses had not come yet. so we were told to continue the lucrin injection 1 more week before starting the second injection.

We came back fer another bld test and vagina scan (4th day menses)and was told to go home and wait for our result.the nurse called us within the next two hours to inform me that I had 2 cyst and I had to stop this ivf cycle hecause the cyst might interfere with the pregnancy.she also said that i have to wait for my next menses to come to start on ivf again. My hubby and I were so sad because we really didnt expect this and we had to wait so long to start again......

Anyone out there ever been in a similar situation as us?

There has been many sad, difficult and challenging moments for parents to be.
Personally felt you shold have gone for a thorough check for cyst and other complications because you just wated 1 round of IVF cost and there's limited susidy to how many attempts one can have.

Success rate thou high, there are alot of unsuccessful cases as well. Unless you both a mid age and above, otherwise give yourselves a break both mentally and physically and try the natrual course first. There are couple for tried for very much longer time before seeking medical assistance. importantly as long both are healthy, try non-evasive methods first.

Hi.. well im 29 n my hubby is 37 this year..the dr in kkh told us we had only less than 1% chance of getting pregnant the natural way due to his low quality sperm and the only way fer us is ivf...we did lots of vaginal scan n even went for hysteroscopy to c wats in the womb...resultsvwere normal n didnt mention anything bout cyst...im really confuse abt wats going on in my body..
Pple ard us keeps getting having babies and so we r dying to have one...moreover its a second marriage fer him so I can understand how my hubby feels.

I can totally identify with what you said, that people around you keep having babies. I felt that way too when we were TTC. So i started avoiding the babies/kids and enjoyed my couple life. A specialist we saw at KKH diagnosed us with unexplained infertility after several tests so we kinda 'gave up'.

After 4-years of marriage, we're now blessed with a baby girl (no IVF, no Clomid, no nothing!). So be encouraged that 'miracles' do happen in God's time ;)

Just thought i'll share.
