You can book an appt with a gynae once you are about 6 weeks. By then you should be able to see your fetus heartbeat in the scan machine. Good Luck!!! :D

Hi All,

Thanks for all your comments ....

I really dunno wat to feel at the moment though ...
Went to the gynae on Sat ....
There is a sac but no embryo seen ... Doc says that is not a good sign and told me to come back in a week ... if embryo is still not seen then it is not good news ...

Everyone is telling me to remain positive .... I am so confused on what i should be feeling ....

hi there, juz wan to share with you the same experience my wife went thru. when we discovered she's pregnant and went to confirm @ KK, we were given all sorts of probabilities ie pregnancy still in very early stage, possible miscarriage or embryo found outside of the womb. we went thru some extensive tests etc only to get a confirmation the next day....in the end, we took the reports and went to our preferred gynae @ Gleneagles.

during the 1st trimester, my wife suddenly bled quite profusely at home while i was driving back after work n scared the hell out of me. i rushed her to Gleneagles and she was admitted for 2 days. our gynae examined her n said her HCG level was hovering around the dangerously low levels and said there might be a chance of miscarriage....again, this scared the hell out of us but luckily she responded well to the HCG doses the gynae injected and thereafter, she was given alot of vitamins n supplements.

now, my wife is in her trimester (21 weeks) and is a cheerful and bubbly pretty lady (i make it a point to keep making her laugh to enjoy the pregnancy).

2 weeks ago, we went for the detailed scan and the sonographer said everything's ok except......he found bilateral choroid plexus cysts in our baby's brains and asked us to b positive as normally, these cysts will disappear frm 24th-28th week.

so we r keeping our fingers crossed tat the cysts will disappear and our baby will be a healthy baby.

so, dun feel down. it's a gift to be pregnant and enjoy it as much as u can.

Hello,

I also just found out that I'm pregnant. I don't know where to start.
Should I just go to poly clinic and get them refer to any Gyne? Because someone said that if poly clinic refer to specialist is much cheaper than going directly to specific Ob_Gyne clinic.
:nah:

Julia: When you go polyclinic, they will ask which hospital you prefer and they will write a referral letter. Usually it's cheaper when referred by polyclinic. Congrats on your pregnancy! Enjoy being pregnant, it's a wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed mine and missed being pregnant. Haha

Preddy: Congrats on ur wife's pregnancy. Hope all is well for mummy n baby! :001_302:

!

I just found out that I am pregnant on 16th Nov. Went to see a GP at Raffles Clinic first, and the GP suggested for me to go to the polyclinic to get a referral letter to the hospital to get subsidized rates. I went made an appointment at the polyclinic on 21st Nov (try to make an appointment so that you dont't have to wait too long). Doctor wrote a referral letter for me to KK Hospital, check up on the 14th Dec. He didn't actually ask me which hospital I preferred, but I'm fine with KK. I think they have more specialists and gynaes thr since it's a women's hospital. :) Congrats on your pregnancy! It's my first as well, I'm just about as confused as you are. Just hope everything will go smoothly and keep a positive attitude! ^^
