It is not necessary to pump after every latching. When my son started to skip his 2am feed, he usually can't finish the milk accumulated at 5am. So usually after tha 5am and 8am feed, I will express the remaining amounts.

Is it enough to just pump after feed and not other times? My first boy I was so tired so pumping and latching. I pump every 3-4 hours and then in between still need to latch the baby. It's like I don't have time to rest at all

Depends on your situation.
In my case, boy has big appetite while my milk supply came in slow (day 4) and just enough for him.
To stimulate supply, I pumped for 5-10 minutes after day feeds. Usually no milk expressed, just for stimulation.
I'm a SAHM and don't need to stock up on milk, so when milk supply stabilized, I stopped pumping.

At The very beginning when molk supply has not established, my gynae wants me to pump after every feed, just to stimulate. And now after the supply is stabilized, i only pump out when my girl skip the feed at night.
