MY DS is coming 30mths. since young i brought him to eye specialist at KKH for eye reviews cos i always thought he has a squint.. but several specialists confirmed he doesn't have it. but his left eyeball tends to slide in.. the right is ok.. thought of bringing him to Singapore Eye center but it seems they are the same as KKH .. affiliated. howhow? my mum used to tell me that i have squint eyes as a baby till i was 4-5yrs old than they recovered. xavier has inherited that from me? or his is lazy eyes? but the docs all tell me its normal!!! his checkups is scheduled once a year but im panicky so i changed it to twice a year.. advise please? o_O"?

I never encounter actual case but I ever read that lazy/squint eyes need to be corrected asap before the child reach 3-4 years old, the younger the better chance to recover.
I think better make appt with an eye specialist with the eye centre and not KKH

It is true your bb may not have a squint, since so many professionals already said so. Asian kids tend to have what is known as pseudo squint. It looks as if there's a squint, but there isn't, due to the structure of our eyes, and the skin near the nose area. A simple test by the eye specialist can determine whether or not your bb has a squint.

Your mum said you had one, and resolved when you were 4 or 5. That, is the pseudo squint. By 4 or 5 years, the skin fold would have 'straightened' itself out, and hence the so-called squint "disappears". True squint does not self resolve!

Take heart, your bb does not have a squint!
