watermelon and Coke/ gassy drink are no-no.. other food/ drink includes, grass jelly drink, coconut juice (for early stages of pregnancy), kangkong.. but I occasionally still drink Mug/ A&W cos it's caffine free.. but cos it's cold drinks, we shld try to avoid which I know its rather difficult in this hot weather in s'pore..

Re: "Liang" food

watermelon, dragon fruit (not so liang as watermelon), la la (seafood seashell), crab, cold drinks, cabbage all this considered liang

if u want to drink cold drink, try not to drink those with ice, those inside the fridge one.. but still not to often also.

Orange and lime is not liang but will produce phlegm, esp next time u want to BF ur baby.

Really? Can't eat watermelon? It's healthy fruit. When I was pregnant I always ate watermelon coz its cooling & watery. I also ate pepper crab, almost every nite for dinner. But my baby was born healthy, he's almost 7 months now weighing 8.5kg... My gynea also told me I could anything I want coz I didn't take vitamins esp fruits, veggies, fish & meat...

"Liang" food

Nana: is actually more of baby airway like prevent sinus or asthma in the later stage. For me i try to follow the old folks rule coz my hubby have sinus problem n childhood asthma as a mother i also don't wish my child to have a problem. N my mom loves to eat watermelon when having my brother so my brother have sinus problem also which our family history doesn't have it. But still is up to individual n also eat everything in moderation :D

Re: "Liang" food

the only thing that i 'kick' away is coffee...
i am a hardcore coffee addict..
initially in my 1st trimester i still have some craving but now totally no craving for coffee... hehe

Re: "Liang" food

I second with some of the mommies above- eat everything in moderation. We eat/drink to get a balance intake of nutrients which will benefit baby and mommy.

I am, too a hardcore coffee addict who can drink up to 8 cups (those from vending machines) daily but during my pregnancy, I had to cut it down to 2 cups daily. I also stopped myself from taking mutton - It's ok to eat lamb occasionally but mutton has more fats and higher cholesterol. Oh, I refrained from drinking iced milo as the sugar level is also higher.
