Long Haul Air Travel

hi mummies & mummies-to-be

I'm on my 18 weeks now and have a biz trip departing next fri...
do you think it's safe to travel long haul flights like 12+3 hrs...

like to hear all your feedback...

ps: I have miscarriage at early stage before....

Personally, I would think it's better that you defer your trip. I am sure your manager would understand it if you share with him/her that you have past miscarriage case.
Of course, I am not the best person to advice you other than your own gynae.

If u have miscarriage before, is best for u the postponed or cancel the trip. Because the risk is there. Not really advisable, some more u just pass the 1st trim by few weeks, but safe then sorry.

Try explain to ur boss and hope for understanding. :) Otherwise seek medical profession like ur gynae, maybe ask him/her to write a letter then u r unfit for flying.

Please consult your gynae on this. However I fly twice a month ever since the start of my pregnancy till now (32 weeks) and gynae actually encourage me to travel cos she say will have to be grounded once baby is out.

But then that depends on your state of health and whether u are experiencing pregnancy complications.

yes .. better to ask your gynae ..

i had pre-booked a trip to europe before i got pregnant, and was due to travel right after my 1st trimester ..
my gynae had given an all-clear and said its a good time to travel ..

the last i ask gyna (a month ago), she say it is okay to travel...
but i still abit scared scared...

i told my boss this morning, and she is so upset and angry now... :(

ur boss is a woman she should understand the feeling of losing a child :(

Is it because hard to fins replacement in such a short notice?

partially bcoz the ticket is non-refundable...
so she say if its a concern den i shouldn't agree in the first place....

:(

ermm but why would air travel result in miscarriage?

your previous miscarriage result from air travel?
air travel wont cause miscarriage

but for 1st trim where baby is not very stable and higher percentage of miscarriage , sometimes mummies are more worried therefore better to avoid if possible

esp those mummies with weaker body ..

dear all mummies...

thanks for your comments.. i decided not to go for the trip... can't pass myself to take the risk of m/c for a biz trip.....
