I had hard lumps in my boobs in the initial few weeks when my milk came in. I find that expressing or BFing removes the lumps.

And yes, i still had my milk supply.

Did you just give birth recently? Or have you already been BFing for sometime?

Hi Qookie, thanks for replying!

I am just 10weeks preggy, haha. I am just worried that i don't have milk supply after i give birth. I hope Mummies with lumpy boobs wld come forward share their experiences with Bfing.

Hi!

Yes you can have milk even with lumps, I'm bf my baby, my left breast has been lumpy since baby was abt a month old...jus express or latch frequently n massage n u will be fine.

Just see doc or LC if lumps cause any pain or discomfort, I'm following up wif a doc as I had infections but you shd be fine if ur lumps don't bother u too much

Ohh. You're still pregnant? Haven't given birth yet! Haha. I think MarieYeo and i thought you were BFing already! ;)

Hmm. Sorry, i don't have lumpy breasts when i was pregnant. Maybe you should mention it to your gynae and have her look at them. I'm pretty sure they are fine. In the prenatal class i attended, they only mentioned people with no protruding nipples that will face problems with BFing. But even that can be solved.

No worries! Have a happy pregnancy! :)

think should be your colostrum or milk. I used to have huge lump in my right breast before pregnancy and was always paranoid that it might be cancer or growth but after I have birth and breast feed, the lump went away. So don't worry too much ya. I believe majority of the women can breastfeed and only a small minority can't. I've friends who thought they have no breastmilk for their first kid but manage to breastfeed their second kids.

hello meowmummy,

i think like the other mummies said, it's natural to have lumpy breasts after giving birth, might be due to milk congestion. You can try simple remedies like encouraging your baby to suck more often to relieve engorgement or massaging your breasts to soften the tissue and facilitate the milk flow. hope the info i gave you will help!

Thanks to All these reply and encouragment! At least I am not so worried. I have lumpy breasts since 22 or 23, hv been seeing specialist since then, lucky non cancerous but the lumps will grow more and more as years go by. Shall Inform you all, after i given birth(oct), see if those lumps can disappear after Bfing.
