maternity & nursing pads

1. Breast pads= Nursing pads right?
2. How many breast pads do I need to buy for 1 month confinement?
3. As for maternity pads we cannot use those when we have our regular monthly periods? Ie there is such thing called maternity pads meant just for after childbirth is it?
4. How many maternity pads do we need to buy for one month confinement?
5. Does NTUC sell the maternity pads(KOTEX), disposable breast pads, and cotton disposable panties?
6. For disposable panties, how many do I need to buy for one month confinement?

Boo Cai Ling Have been ordering Nanny milk bags from Elaine and it has been really good! I like the fact that it's thick and has double zip. I think I have probably ordered more than 50 boxes of milk bags from her and at my peak, I had 2 freezers full of milk in Nanny milk bags! Anyway, highly recommended and really fast and efficient service from Elaine who has never failed me.

1) yes , there are 2 types , disposable or washable
2) depends on ur milk flow .. some people might not encounter leaking at all esp when milk supply is low but suggest u can buy 1-2 box to backup in case u cant go out during confinement to buy
3) yes, u can use those u regular using de , yes , there is something call maternity pad and for after childbirth , use what ur comfortable with =)
4) depends on individual again , some people might stopped after 1wk of menses and some can last up to 6wks , so u prepare a few packs more for backup , u can still keep for the next period u having anyway =)
5) yes , they do sell BUT depends on the outlets , those big ntuc surely will have , for those small ones i'm not very sure =)
6) for me personally , i nvr use that .. so u estimate , maybe u wanna buy a few more packs for backup or else u can use what u normally wear anyway =)

Hi cherrycheery,
2. If you are wearing bra 24/7 at home then buy, can try Pigeon 36pcs disposable breast pad $8.90 from Kiddy Palace.
I don't wear bra at home so only when i'm going out then i'll use the disposable breast pad.
Philips - Breast care Comfort breast shell set 6 pcs - SCF157/02 - Breast feeding - Breastfeeding - Accessories you can try to get this breast shell which i'm still using for the past 6mth, very good, when i'm breast feeding my baby i'll use one for the other side leaking and mix the collected breast milk with baby brown rice for my baby to eat.

3. Can use your leftovers pad if your periods not a lot, don't need to buy Kotex maternity pad cos its super thick and uncomfortable and cannot stick onto your panty.
I just use my leftovers pad for "night use" for the first week then "normal day use" for 2nd week, 3rd n 4th just panty liner cos my periods not a lot.

6. You can just wear your normal panty which is much more comfortable then the disposable one, unless your periods is very heavy kind.
