Maternity wear

Where do u gals go to buy Maternity wear? Any recommendations?
I dun want to get something very expensive and designer style, just something simple and useful. I'm at the last month of 1st tri but my tummy is already bulging and usual pants that are not stretchable pressed onto my tummy and made me so uncomfortable. I used to be slim so the bump in my tummy quite obvious, not sure whether its baby and sac or the bloatedness due to gas in my stomach? Maybe both...

Now, just wants to get the essentials, like panties and comfy pants etc, when I feel much better, less MS, then I go shopping for prettier items...

TIA!

go bugis street. get those cut that can accommodate the tummy. $10-$12 each piece. =) i'm super cheapskate because it's just wearing it for less than 6 months. it suits daily wear.

if u need more formal ones, i suggest blogshops, which i'm not very good with.

Edwinie, I dun fancy jostling in the bugis street crowds now. It was my shopping heaven but not now when I'm preg and paranoid abt being knocked into. haha.

Tiggee, U 20+ weeks preg, can wear cotton on clothes n no need maternity clothes? What abt maternity panties? Where u get them?
I think I'll check out the stretchable pants u recommend :001_302:

can go and get the belly band. i just got mine on sat @ marina sq. i can still wear my normal mini skirt and shorts, but the button is too tight, so this belly band can cover it up without u having to button. it cost $62 for the lace design. but it is very helpful and will last thru your pregnancy.

i didnt wear maternity clothes until 7mth preg. b4 that, i wore those babydoll top with my usual shorts. for bras n panties, i got those super cheapo ones at the shophouses outside AMK HUB. Since I'm not going to wear those big sizes bras n panties for long period, only for a short 3-4mths, I rather get cheap ones. during last tri, I bought 2 maternity tops from spring maternity and a 3 quarter pants from kiddy palace. HTH =)

Ehs. Some of their tops very flare out kind so quite suitable for us to wear. Their stretchy pants I'm wearing like S or M size. But it's really stretchy and I think I can wear thru the rest of the pregnancy. And maybe due to me not liking my pants being worn high so it only covers part of my belly.

As for undies. I had rather small boobs. But I had a few bigger sizes bras so I just bought extender for the bras. And panties I still can fit into some of my old ones as they are hipsters. But I bought a few 1 size up panties. And I think I need to buy more soon. :)

So far, I think Modern Maternity (United Sq) has some classic pieces, so far I have bought quite alot from them (office skirts, capri, shorts, dress, tops) from them.. Quite pricey but very comfortable.. Abt $49 - $99 per piece.

I also bought some casual pieces (babydolls.. tanktops) from Forever 21..

Lately I also found this shop called Gingersnaps at Paragon level 5 that sells maternity wear as well, not alot of variety but quite nice/up to date designs in my opinion (I am super fussy) not very expensive suprisingly, a dress abt $49 - $59..

There is this shop called Motherswork at Tanglin Shopping Centre that sells quite nice maternity wear too, but I find their jeans quite costly abt $169 onwards? They carry some nice dresses/tops as well..

So far I have been to EGG maternity, Spring and I didn't find anything nice at all.. I find it so hard to find pretty trendy maternity wear in Spore! :embarrassed: on the verge of ordering from overseas US websites..

Anyone has any other recommandations??

Morphmaternity products are so fantastic. Their maternity tops can be worn during and even post pregnancy making it a great investment. They are affordable too.

Hi, you could get dresses made of spandex material. Can still wear them after delivery. If you stay in the west, there is this shop at Jurong Point, 3rd level, beside the food court. They carry a lot of dresses of this material. Good for office wear.

If not, :: Maternity & Baby specialises by Mummy's Secret :: is not bad too. I got a pair of pants and leggings from them, and 2 pairs of shorts. Recently got 3 nursing bras from them too. Delivery was quite fast and I think its not that expensive as compared to Kiddy palace, EGG or Spring.
