Membrane Sweeping By Gynae

hi Mtbs/experienced mummies,
May I check with you if your gynae has started to membrane sweep you from wk 36 onwards? My gynae told me he will be checking my cervix from wk 36 onwards and said membrane sweeping is common. (So far gynae sin do anything, he just pop his finger in and check if my cervix has soften. But I heard so many negative remarks on membrane sweeping.

I just want to find out if any other gynaes out there are doing it to mtbs.

3 of my 4 deliveries are by induction, but i was never asked if i want membrane sweep instead of induction. I guess it all depends on the gynae.

my doctor did that for no 1 at 37 weeks. she thought i would go into labour soon after but baby decided to stay put. when i saw her one week later, she swept the membranes again and stretched the cervix and thought it was sure-go, but no... and i went in 2 days later for induction. the second kid decided to come early before it was time...

36 weeks is a little early. babies are considered full term only from 37 weeks onwards
