can single unmarried mothers claim child maintenance from the father if his name was not listed as the father in the child's birth cert? and if so, is the father entitled to any rights over the child (eg: visitation)?
You can't claim unless you grant him visitation rights. By taking his money means he have a right over the child and you might need to add his name to the child's birthcert
as long as can prove he's the biological dad, u can claim maintenance for the child. regardless of whether will the dad give maintenance/ not, he has the rights to visit the child, unless he gave up all his rights as a dad. but again, even if he gave up his rights, you can also ask for maintenance for the child.
