does he get startled or respond to sound when he was asleep? my DS is slower in development, he tends to react to sound abit later & slower than the avg bb..

Hi,

My gal failed her hearing test twice at born. After talking to our friends which is a medical student, suggested us to bring her to see ear specialist w/o further delay, she recommended Pro. Lynn Lim from NUH. Now my gal is everything is okie, and is still under reviewing under Pro. Lynn Lim. Next mth my gal is going back for follow up review again.

I told the PD abt my gal hearing issue and is under pro. Lynn Lim. He said Pro. Lynn is a good doc, continue with pro. Lynn Lim all the way.

Yes, my gal can hear like normal baby. The doctor did not do anything to her, every appt we spent average $300++ (no subsidise) that includes ABR (Automated Brainstem Auditory Evoked response) test. On the 1st ABR test report showed 50% lost of hearing on the right ear, and mild lost of hearing on the left ear. The subsequent followed up (every 3mths) there is improvement, next mth follow up (4th appt) which scheduled 6 mths later.

You can try to go to KK but dun put high hope on them. I have heard a case someone from forum, the new born bb got a deform ear. the specialist over KK told the mum off, u hv to accept the fact how is the baby. But the mum is more concern does the deform ear effect the hearing and what casues that. So in the end, the mum went polyclinic to get a refer letter to NUH. at the same time she also looked ard for ear specialist, in case the refer letter dun work she still got someone in mind that she can ask for help.
