Hi all. I'm not sure if this is related, but my mum is a masseuse who specialise in pre/post natal massages. For post natal massage it will be house call and for pre natal it will be at her shop in the west.

Hi all,
my sister read this thread & decided to get the CL Ya Mei Fion used. But things turned out real bad & angry!
My sister called Ya Mei before Cny & asked her to do confidment for her in July 2010,Ya Mei said she's available on the edd,& she will come to singapore to collect $300 deposit from her after cny & price was agreed at $1800 after discount.
After Cny about 5 days, my sister received a called from Ya Mei & said she's coming to singapore at 2pm to collect the deposit.My sister waited until 2.30pm den she received a call said she not feeling well so not coming to meet her.
1 week later,my sister received a call from Ya Mei again, said she will meet my sister to collect on that day. My sister met up a CL fat lady ask her is she ya mei before paying the deposit she said YES, so my sister paid her the $300 deposit of the $1800, den the CL told her the total is $1900,not $1800 which was agreed with YA MEI earlier.My sis felt???
The FAT lady wrote done her Msia HP no & Sin HP no & passed to my sister before she left, & asked my sister to call her on the day she admitted hospital for delivery.
About a few days later, my sister was saving the FAT LADY hp nos to her hp & to her SURPRISE, she realised the FAT LADY no & YA MEI hp nos are 2 different nos!!!
My sister immeditaly called up Ya mei hp & verified with her & questioned her how come the fat Lady who came to collect deposit izzit her? She said NO, its her friend called CAI YI.
My sister was so angry & felt so cheated.Ya Mei did not inform my sister that she cant do for her & even ask another lady to collect deposit from my sister & said she's ya mei tooo!!
Ya Mei just said her mum passed away recently so she cant do or work as a CL for 3 YEARS!!DO you believe that ???
Please advice, my sister felt so cheated & dont know want to continue her confidement with YA MEI friend CAI YI in july?

Gosh! The Ya Mei you described is terrible! I hope your sister eventually found a good confinement lady. Hmmm... The numbers provided in the link written by Fion Chong is different from the ones my Ya Mei has. The Ya Mei I know wouldn't do such a thing. This is quite tricky... Hmmm... The problem with names is that a few people can have the same name.
My rule of thumb is to speak to the nanny at length and gaudge your comfort level before hiring her. What might suit person A might not suit person B. I was overseas when I started looking for my nanny. A friend of mine gave me a few numbers recommended in mummysg. I had a crazy time looking for my nanny. I spoke to all kinds and had so many concerns! I remember speaking to a nanny and she was raising her voice at me discouraging me from breastfeeding. When I spoke with Ya Mei, I knew she was the right nanny for me and fortunately my gut instinct was right.
I am recommending Ya Mei because I would like to return the favor of recommending a good nanny back into this forum. If my friend hadn't gotten the contacts from here, I can't imagine what my confinement will be like or know how to raise twins. It's good to take precaution and sometimes a leap of faith is required. I wish everyone all the best in their search for a reliable confinement!

yes i hope everyone finds a good nanny. i am very skeptical about nannies now becoz the nanny with me now is very very bad.
she is very lazy, and sleeps more than me. she only minds the baby at night when she has no choice as the baby is in her room. most of the day she spends sleeping, eating, in the toilet or hiding in the kitchen. she scolds and teases both my children. and when the baby poos pr pees, she will complain. she refuses to burp the baby and just keeps giving him to me when he cries claiming that he is hungry - this is every 45 min to every hour! in the end, i have to spend a lot of energy and time doing everything myself and burping him myself.
she wants to watch tv, she eats her lunch and dinner at the hawker centre, she claims she does not need to wash the toilet - the toilet that SHE uses! she gets the ensuite, so only she is using that toilet! of coz she has to clean it...
she claims that other mummies gave her huge ang pows - hinting i should give her huge ang pow. she says other mummies have dishwasher so she doesn't neet to wash dishes. and if my husband eats my food, she should get extra money becoz she is cooking for him @_@! he is eating the same food as me! anyway her cooking is so bad, he said he doesn't want to eat her cooking.
everytime she touches my baby he will scream like hell. becoz basically, she must be evil and he can feel it. she has no sense of responsibility or professionalism. she wakes up later than me! so my red dates soup is only available after she wakes up. she doesn't know a thing about herbs or confinement foods. she in fact asked us to bring her the black vingear pig trotters soup becoz she likes to eat it. it is for me, but she darnk it all! she is on the phone all the time, even at 1 am and 3am!!
she makes my mother buy her breakfast every morning from the hawker centre.

Hello angel9, oh my... Your nanny does sound like a nightmare! I now understand where your skeptism comes from. I would feel the same way too! You must be very stressed. Hang in there!

I engage the help of PEM confinement services & the nanny who help me out is by the name of Li ling. she is a very good CL. She teaches me the correct way how to bf my baby, do my laundry cook for me and help me clean up my room. She oso help to take care of my brother kid at times without asking. And she sometimes make the soup portion enough for the whole family. She even help with simple household chores. She can cook well also. Very friendly and clean. I would strongly recommend her as your next CL

be careful of qun jie's twin sister. if qun jie cannot do it, she will get her twin sister to do it. her twin sister is the opposite of her! and her name is qin jie. so make sure you dont't engage the sister. she is very dodgy. did not want to let me apply for work permit. did not let me see her passport. did not want to give me her info. just want me to deposit money into her niece's bank account without receipt or signing any paper that says i gave her a deposit! basically she just wants to take the money and run.
she also said that in her 10 years of working in singapore, she did not have to apply work permit! so she has been illegal for a long time. i find her very greedy and untrustworthy. although she can sell herself very well - like she worked for expats, blarblarblar

I previously confirmed a Confinement lady but because in the end we hired a maid and my MIL is helping me with the confinement cooking, therefore we would nt be needing the CL services anymore.
