To be honest, you would most likely lose out if you have no extra tuition. In the past, 10-20years ago, people who have tuition are usually those who fare poorly in their respective subjects.
However presently many of those who have tuition are from the very good schools or the elite schools. Schools like Hwa Chong, Raffles JC, National JC, Temasek JC and etc.
Their parents are often well affluent and educated. Holding top executive positions in Banks, MNCs or Listed companies. Or Professions like Doctors, Lawyers or Accountants.
And many of them started to have tuition consistently as early as the Dec-Jan period.
Do you think your child will not lose out when their peers are being taught by some of the brightest tutors from NUS, NTU, SMU or NIE?
