Pls Advice: What to take note in bringing a 7 months old baby on long flight??

dear mummies,
am going to USA soon with my 7 months old baby.. any advice what to take note during the flight? things to bring for hand carry bag and what to expect? any mummies share your experience in travelling? we are going for a road trip and its our first time travelling on flight with this little boy!!
