My 2 year old girl is going to remove her Tonsils & Adenoids, can anyone share their experience with me?
We are in dilemma wherher to go for the surgery or not? Like is she too young, the effect of GA, the most important, the pain after the surgery?

Removal of Tonsils & Adenoids

Hi delynna,
My daughter (2years 9months) will go to surgery end of this month due to ear infection.doctor will also remove her adenoids and check her tonsil.
At first We didnt want her to go for surgery, but hearing problem will affect speech and learning.so We decide to go for surgery.as for GA,I red about the risks of GA,etc but the ENT doctor assure me that he'll oversee the anesthesian and he give one of the best paediatric anethesian (senior and experienced).
Last thing is we just pray that the operation will go smooth.

Hi, my son was suggested for the surgery when he was 2 yrs plus also. Doc say his adeniod n tonsils is slightly enlarged. He always had runny nose which later progress into bacterial infection. Think it started from my son's nose get allergy easily.Fall sick very frequent. But I really don wan him to go thru that. Brought him to see another ent for second opinion. This ent suggested him to be on long term medication. He say are doing that to buy time, when my son's skull, face get bigger as he grow up things will get better. My son fall sick less frequent now.

I had brought my daughter for a 2nd opinion @ Mount E. The specialist said there will not be any improvement 6 months down the road. Even medication will not help much in reducing on the sizes so we will be letting her to go for the surgery.

Last nite, i also checked with our GP, she said its better to go earlier since these "things" are causing the blockage. & the GA will be just fine.
