Seafood???

Dear all mummy,
I am currently 12 weeks first time mother and curious whether
can we eat seafood like prawns and seafood fried rice
? Cos heard people say cannot take prawn, crab,
raw oyster , stingray and etc is it true???
thank!
 
When i was pregnant i try to avoid seafood and 'cooling' stuff but some mummies did told.me otnok.to eat but keep to minimal ba

My gynae said i could eat anything when i was pregnant. Just to be sure the food is clean and cooked.

Actually prawn and crabs are fine. So is sotong (octopus /squid). But no for raw food unless you are very confident it was prepared in a safe way without possibility of being infected with bacteria that pregnant woman's immunity cannot fight back. Stingray wise, it's more of avoiding due to high level of mercury. If you really have to eat it, don't eat too much. I've also read that fish with bones are also lower in mercury.
