Super bad rashes/eczema

Hi mummies,

I'm new here and I'm experiencing really horrible rashes/eczema diagnosed by a GP on Wednesday.

I had two small patches of rashes about a month ago that slowly spread to other parts of my body like under my tummy, uppers side of my tummy, some near my upper thighs and now my neck and arms though the rashes on my neck and arms look a bit different.

My gynae gave me some creams, moisturiser and a shower gel to bathe with it a few weeks back when the rashes was mild but they didn't seem to help much since it has spread quite badly since then. I read online that it could be due to hormonal changes but I really hope it won't last until I deliver since I'm only at 16weeks and there are still around five months more to go...

Any other mummies went through similar experiences here? Please advise, thank you! :)

I also had rashes during my 1st trimester. It grew many on my legs and if I scratch on other parts of my body, it will grow a patch there too! Sometimes it will also grow a few small little tiny bumps on my arms and it's super itchy kind. What I did then was to try to maintain my body clean and in about a week, the rashes subside on their own...:)

Thanks katsg for sharing! I don't know why mine aren't clearing and now my neck is really full of rashes that appear as tiny bumps. I'm gonna try not using the body wash to see if I'm allergic to it and hopefully it gets better before I seek a second opinion with another doc. glad to hear yours cleared!

Hi syuen.

Just sharing with you similar experiences. I went to the polyclinic to consult the doctor and she advised me to use Johnson baby lotion or Nivea Cream. What i did was I bought a Cooling Powder (Snake Brand) and apply on the rashes at night before going to bed. Soon, it goes away.

My Bad Rash starts on my 26-28 weeks, it got very very bad especially on my thighs area and leg, i have this rashes when i was preg with my first one and it appears on my tummy, and now with this number 2, almost affecting my whole body except my tummy area.. went to see thomson skin specialist and came to know that is common during preg,, due to i have sensitive skin... doctor prescribed me with one with of steriods medicine to clear away the open wound rashes and cream to apply.. on the other hand, i bought physiogel and sebamed soap or shower gel to bathe. never bathe hot water as it irritates the wound and in return it will be more and more itchy. i will apply doctors cream after every shower and as and when is itchy i will subsitute with physiogel. currently still seeing doctor and taking the cream to apply.. i hope that after birth the rash will go away...

I am also having terrible rashes... Have since 2wks pregnant till now... I am 18wks now n is still having it.. I always prevent myself from sweating too much or be in aircon/cold places too long... N whenever i feel itchy, i will wash it with water or dap it with wet cloth n it will subside... The rashes appears due to the hormones change. Do not scratch it.. The more you scratch, it will just get worst...

I can't differentiate between patches of stretchmark and rashes that comes without itchiness feel both are red patches

I had pregnancy eczema for both pregnancies. I thought its due to the stretchmark cream I used but for my second preg, I didn't use any stretch mark cream n it happened. It must be due to hormonal changes. I use Deemvale oatmeal shower and QV body wash. First preg, the doc prescribed steroids cream but now I'm still breastfeeding my older child so I'm not sure whether I can use steroid this time.
