YouFu Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle by twentysomething Andre Ong couldn't have bopped onto the scene at a more inopportune moment in recent pandemic times; its inaugural Golden Mile stall geared up to serve customers weeks just before Singapore abruptly battened down for an almost two-month long "circuit breaker" beginning 7 April 2020 back then, thus tossing one potentially fatal wrench in the works.
Against all odds, however, Hawkerberry Finn here proved himself quite the resilient bastard given he rode out that inadvertent quagmire plus subsequent sporadic lockdowns with equal braggadocio and unbridled grit, eventually even doubling YouFu's footprint via another Woodlands Crescent outlet. Meanwhile, his old man's own separate Hokkien mee business (also bearing the exact same name, confusing meh) incidentally began 1 July at Chinatown Complex Food Centre - which we swooped in on btw, albeit owing to (erroneously) surmising Ong Junior skippers things there too.
YouFu@Chinatown operates daily from 10.30am-8pm except Mondays.
