Tipping toes , what should i do ?

Dear mummies . i need some advice on the problem stated above . My gal is about 2 yrs n 4mths now but still walks with her toes !!! like a person standing on his toes to reach out for something high. Apparently this is a problem among kids who uses the walker when they were younger. Raise this issue with my pd ever since it started but pd told me its a phrase and it,l pass but till now still the same. It started when she was about 17mths. The entire household will remind her , smack her leg, press her feet hard to the ground etc . sometimes it does work but comes back again. some mummies told me its a habit . if so hw do i effectively get rid of this habit ???? and also i have heard scary things like if she continues walking this way she will never put her feet down n even if she does the tendon ( not sure if they meant this ) around the calf area will be painful so much so that she will have to tip toes to walk again. is it true ????? mummies m i being paranoid or shld i really consider bringing her to a bone specialist to ensure theres no growth deformity ? pls share if u do have such problems or came across one before ? thks

Hi. How is her speech and eye contact? I am asking because some children who have autism tend to walk on their toes due to tactile hypersensitivity. Double check with your doctor to rule out autism...if it is a physical problem, as in Achilles tendon, then may need a brace for the leg...hope your girl will be alright soon..

My youngest child did that too. When she was 15-19 months in her months of early walking, she kept tip toeing everywhere. She walked very fast that way though.

We kept giving positive reinforcements and encouraging her to do it our way, which is to walk with entire sole, she eventually did.

She is still a very strong tip toe-er though. She is excelling in ballet classes now. And tip toes for bemusement sometimes still. So no issue with us on that.
