there's something i need to know..

when am i required to decide on which hospital i wanna deliver at??
u chose a private gyane right? if yes, than by last trimester decide which hospital also can. Cos by that time, gynae will give u the admission letter, so he will ask where u wan to deliver. That's the case for my gynae.
So i guess u still got time to decide which hospital.

Your gynae staff will ask where u wish to deliver TMC or Mt.A than they will help u to make reservation till your edd near soon abt 35 or 36 weeks, your gynae staff will pass u the specific hospital which u requested admission letter to you.. :Dancing_wub:

u will have to decide which hospital to go for the detail scan. Than the clinic will help u to book the appt date.

like wat catty said, by 35 or 36 weeks, ur gynae will give u the admission letter to which hospital u want to deliver at.

on why 33rd week check, my gynae asked me whether he already helped me book for a hospital. And he helped me booked on 33rd week of pregnancy. You can ask your gynae on the charges of hospital you chose (i asked mine). And my gynae did explained to me quite briefly and told me to put aside $4k cash for emergency c-sect if happen (I chose Normal delivery, which is most recommended)..

btw I've chose Thomson Medical Center. I've went for my detailed scanning on the 22nd week. Although the waiting time quite long but the sonographer very nice and friendly, slowly help me wake my baby up in my tummy as she can't see some parts of it..

When I asked where is the ladies from 1 of the nurses, she walked me til the toilet :S Service not bad :)

* I've chose 4-bedded, gynae said if want to upgrade by then also can.. I'm not sure if hubby can stay with me in 4-bedded room... Anyone knows?

HI Mrs mogan,

Im also w Dr Adrian Woodworth, im too deciding bet Mt A & TMC... Have u been to their Hospital tours?

Wat im more concern is their nurses...coz i intend to breastfeed my baby and have no experience on BF. so would prefer a hospital which have patient & caring nurses & lactation specialist there for we mummies.

btween Thomson Medical Center and mt a, in terms of their prices, just few hundred +/- only right?
Yup.. Thomson prices will be higher than Mt.A few hundreds bucks in terms of deposit etc..

As for breast feeding, Mt.A is using the Madela pump (which i know from the patients staying beside me), even though i know how to breastfeed but they will still auto come to ur ward to help me.. :001_302:

Realli can't find any bad things to say about Mt.A, simply great service, food and cozy ward and environment.. :red:

I have tried Thomson Medical Center and will go there again if plan for 2nd. Simply just because "Thomson Medical Center nurses very patient and nice, they guided me how to bf (eventho no milk come out:001_302:), prices not much diff fr others, place clean and comfortable. :tlaugh:
My Gynae was Dr Adelina Wong (same building). She was good and her assistants were also very friendly.

Can share with me how come u get the 2 bedded but pay 4 bedded??

I oso got b4 long ago in Yr2004 my 1st labour. But u know last time cant claim so much after claim i paid abt $1k cash. They gave me 2bedded cos 4bedded is under renovation

Last yr my 2nd labour i manage claim $1350 only cos i 1 nite stay only but after claim i paid $1.5k cash. Tis labour cos i choose 2bedded. My total bill b4 claim is $2.8k

Hope you can share how's ur bill charges like so i can decide if tis coming Oct i wan choose 2 or 4 bed heehee.

To mummies out there. Mt A service really not bad. the nurse super caring and loving. Personally i choose to deliver there cos i was born there too. You know back in our time Mt A is private Hosp and my delivery cos is all cash paid ( as my dad said during the 80's ) my deliver charges was $4k and my bro in yr 1988 was $7k cos he was induced LOL

Hi,

I m also w Dr Adrian Woodworth. I m also deciding between TMC and Mt A.

Why dun u ask your gynae for his opinion?

Understand from this forum in general, mommies w Mt A experience has nothing but good comments abt the place whereas there is a mixture for TMC though not bad either.

I went to ask my gynae on this today actually. Since my 2nd one was delivered in TMC and I was happy with the place, he recommended me to go back to TMC.

From his dr's perspective, he looked at efficiency of the hospital's staff when it comes to emergency cases. He said under such circumstances, mother's and baby's lives are highest priority so based on his experience, he find that TMC's nurses and staff are faster in response and better. Quoted from him.

As I am with my 3rd child and my 2nd one was really fast so in his opinion, nurses must be fast in reaction. He recommended me TMC. I m ok with it cos I looked at the maternity packages between the 2 hospitals. Everything being equal they differ by $100-$200 so seemed ok with me.

I think either hospitals should be fine. They are reputable and known to be good. If this is your first one and may take a while, I think no difference in the choices, but if u r like me, I too look at distance to delivery ward, fast response cos I have a bad experience w my first one. Drop off point too far away from delivery ward, then I look beyond cost (not too great different here). Ultimately I want to be attended on an immediate basis for my case.
My fren, whose delivery is fast too (she said her gynae nearly missed for both cases of her delivery despite stationed at TMC. LOL) has no issues with TMC either.

Seriously go for the hospital tours and c which one you are more comfortable with. BTW, TMC finished its renovation whereas Mt A still under renov, but should be ready by your EDD.

Hope this helps! Cheers.

I agree MA has much better service the TMC. Though my delivery was 3 yrs back I still find them better then TMC. Nurses as mentioned are very caring indeed.
