Too little or too much?

Hi, wondering if anyone can advise?

dear son coming to 2 mths, all along got a bit of reflux but not serious kind, just sometimes spit out not always.

But recently, I dont know why, he's been spitting out very often. Not sure if it is due to oversupply?

But then again he is feeding very freq (about 1 hr kind), and I observe he is feeding longer now? Last time will only feed 5 mins then ok , but now is about 15-20mins. - doesn't this mean undersupply? <though now nighttime he sleeps longer so drink less>

So confused. Btw I was on domper to increase now I dont know whether continue or not.

P.S I'm latching him so no idea how much I've got.

To me it sounds normal for ur boy to feed more than 15 min.. Their tummy getting bigger and generally can store more milk. :p Feeding regularly or longer duration may not necessary means not enough supply. Since u r latching him, it's not possible. More demand, more supply. Maybe he suckles for comfort like my boy.. Till today, he still suckles for comfort at night... Abt reflux, I do experience that.. Doc just advise me to burp my baby often coz while he's opening his mouth to suckle, some air may enter. But if u worry, just ask doc at the next appt

My girl merlion quite frequently initially . Doc told me to give more breast milk instead of formula. And she is much better.

cherryfrozz,

not to worry if he use more time to drink. i reckon he need more milk so he drink longer.

as for concern on domper. i am quite puzzled why u are on it since u are doing latching and not pumping. if latch, as u mention, how u know u got not enough milk that u ate domper? if u took domper for sometime already, u can stop and see how:) use baby to increase yr supply.

my case is i did exclusive pump and latch. so i know my milksupply drop when my bb is 3 mth, then i took domper.

Yah was on it from the start coz history of low milk supply. Must say it helps a lot. during confinement did pump & latch also. Technically total latching only for a mth now since no help & he feed every hour so makes it impossible for me to pump.

Waiting for his 2 mth assessment appt...yah I think I will ask the doc also. But my boi is difficult to burp. He hates it. Will arch his back & struggle. And struggle = puke. SIgh....

I dont think stopping domperidone will cause supply to drop as long as you continue to bf. But if u are unsure u can drop 1 pill a day and observe whether there is any changes on your baby. I dropped 2 pills at night for 2 consecutive nights then went cold turkey and there was no change in what I pumped.
