Voracious appetite means BB Boy & normal appetite means BB Girl?

Hi, hi all mtbs,

Wanted to find out in a general poll if having a huge appetite means you're having boy and normal / no appetite means a baby Girl?

I just read it in this book called - What to Expect When You're Expecting by Heidi Murkoff & Sharon Mazel. And they said having an appetite like a teenage boy during pregnancy means you're most probably carrying one. :001_302: Wanted to see how true is it.

YES! True for me.
When i was carrying me 1st born (BOY), i was hungry all the time.
And i had to eat, if not i will feel uncomfortable, sick etc
For my 2nd baby( GIRL), i did not feel hungry, just ate normal meals, no snacks no crazings.:001_302:

Hi, I read this before as well. I have pretty varocious appetite during mid term 2 to 3 of my pregnancy. I can have fried bee hoon in the morning, tau hoon soup in the afternoon and for dinner i can eat economic rice and top it off with roti prata. haha i gained 21 kg as a result.

I'm on a SEEFOOD diet. I see the food n I eat it. So ppl ask me watt I crave but I dun crave, I eat everything! I dunno if it's coz I'm expecting a boy or just coz I'm preggo!

LOL! Same here! if I don't eat, I feel sick & sometimes abit giddy.

oh yes, a filling breakfast then followed by a hearty lunch then i can my dinner at 6pm then feel hungry at 9 plus and if am not asleep after 12midnight, you'll see me scavenging for food. my hubby is scared of me now coz he is equally putting on weight together with me. haha!

somehow you had me craving for roti prata with lotsa curry now! yums!

I put on 20kgs when I was having my girl.
Within the first 3 months, I have already put on 8 kgs or more.
I didn't have morning sickness that time so my appetite was really good.
I kept craving for mee soto and black glutinous rice that time *hehe*

Now because of feeling nausea (no actual puking), my appetite isn't as crazy as before but I still eat a lot. Just had biscuits and hotcakes meal for breakfast... nausea aside, i am thinking about lunch le =X

really??? when i have my 2 boys... i feel hungry all the time too... but 3rd pregnancy.... don't feel like eating for the 1st trim... now can eat a bit but same as u can only eat normal meal... no snacks no crazing too... and many food don't like to eat now... which i like it very much when i not pregnant or pregnant with my boys...

my detail scanning will be this coming 25th, hope is baby girl hahah....

I'd bad bloatedness through pregnancy, so ate small and frequent meals. Got a baby boy.
The HUGE appetite was when breastfeeding him because he had a huge appetite. I ate double of what I used to eat, yet lost all the pregnancy weight easily.

im having my 1st boy now, now in 2nd tri i eat quite alot in morning but to afternoon n dinner not really much. e.g morning i can eat 1 pack noodles, roti prata and some snack. Afternoon will be just milk and some biscuit, dinner will be juz normal serving.

but i constantly craving for sweet stuff.. haha

It seems hard to have baby boy in Singapore weather.
Most of my friends have baby girls and I am hoping for a boy for this pregnancy though I guess it's most probably another baby girl cause luck hasn't been on my side =.=

after the scan the dr say I will be having a bb boy, but I dont seems to be able to eat anything.

Congrats Jennifer on your third bb!

Triquetra - Look on the bright side! As long as healthy, boy or girl doesn't really matter much. Gender of bb depends on your partner. Don't stress too much about it.

Jacole - i guess it varies & depending on individual bah. maybe your appetite will pick up in a few weeks. am eating quite abit but also tend to puke after food. guess my bb is a fussy eater. kekeke!

LOL! Still can't see my bb's gender but after the Oscar scan, am glad, it's a healthy so far. It was so active during scan that the sonographer spent quite abit of time trying to get bb into position for proper pic. Fingers crossed for great results during detail scan which won't be happening until I reach 20 wks. Hopefully by next visit to gynae in Mar will be able to know bb's gender. Can't wait to buy bb's stuff!
