when to send the little one to little tots to socialise?

have a maid and mother in law to look after...thus don't know when is the best time to send the little one to little tots to learn things and socialise. At the same time heard alot of pple telling me...easily fall sick in child care environment. thus thinking of only half day child care...but also not sure when is the best time to send...18 months?

since ur maid and mil is taking care of ur child, i dun think u nd to hurry to send him to CC.

u can choose to let him attend playgrp when he is ard 2yo? or lik what u said, maybe just a half day CC. cos abit pointless to send him to full day CC since there are ppl taking care of him alrdy.

ds is 14mth, didnt go for any classes or sch but when he watched those kids show the kids dancing inside, he walso will follow. for such things, i think parents and family members can teach. =)

R u a stay at home mummy?

if u r u can actually teach a lot of things to your child at home. i feel that at this age school can wait.

if u want him to socialize and interact more with other kids, u can ask around the forum or check out in ur neighbourhood for kids around the same age as ur son/daughter. then u can have play dates where they can play and learn together too.

this is what i personally feel. for me, I m considering to start my girl on playgroup (few hours kind) after she turns 2, but not sure yet, as i m expecting twins in October. gonna see how i cope, then decide if i can "homeschool" all my kids. :)

There's actually no hurry to send your child to a cc or playgroup just to socialise. Kids up to 3 years old mostly still engage in parallel play/associative play rather than play actively together (cooperative play). :)

I'm a sahm so I homeschool my child (she's 2yo) (you can chk out my blogshop for the learning aids I make for her) and she learns plenty from me in the day and hubby (when he gets back from work). I think if your objective is to let your child do some form of learning (which he isn't getting from his primary care-givers at the moment), then by all means send him to the cc or playgroup for a couple of hours a day.

I really impress at your all for teaching variety of stuff to your baby. sometimes i just run out of ideas...

thks for the compliment. But i think tt all kids are all clever and learn things v fast. sometimes we just have to spend abit more time to teach and guide them along. and sometimes actu they know, just that they didnt show us so we thought they dont know. haha..

we're staying with my parents. my parents also cant speak proper english. so i will ask them to speak 100% mandarin to ds while me and hubby speak english to him. i rather they speak 100% mandarin to him rather then mixmix.. but sometimes they will learn tgt and try to speak some proper full sentence in english.

so if ur mil cant speak proper english, maybe just let her speak mandarin to ur baby and let you and ur hubby speak 100% english to her, at the same time, ur mil and maid can learn as well =)
