I just go to poly coz I think it's slightly cheaper. But if you want convenience, then private PD would be a better choice.

I brought her to PD. But i heard Poly is cheaper. At the Poly, you get injected by a nurse. At PD, it's a child specialist doctor. Haha. Hence the price difference.

If i have no.2, i would go to Poly. It's cheaper an nearer to my house! :p

i bring my lil gal for vaccinations at the poly coz it's fast and the staff nurses who did the vaccinations were pretty pro. also, it's a lot cheaper than pediatrician. i only bring her to her pediatrician unless she's unwell coz the queue for her pediatrician at tmc is much longer than the wait at the poly near my place

Im a nurse in hospital. Usually nurses are better with injections bcos we are the one administering it. some docs learn from us. And Polyclinic nurses are all experienced if not can't work there. Definitely cheaper.

Wanted to share my experience at Clementi Polyclinic when I brought my son there for his 3rd month vaccinations. (I only found out they were free after we had gone to a PD at his 1 month checkup)

The appointment process was hassle free. I dialed the number on the NHG Polyclinics website and I made an appointment within 5 minutes. The staff also explained to me what would happen - that my child would be assessed by a nurse before the vaccinations, and that I could opt for the optional ones there and then. Then, a doctor would examine my child for the developmental assessment screening thing we have in their health booklets.

I went to the polyclinic with my hubby, expecting to wait a million years for our turn. My mum even told me to leave the child outside with my hubby and call him when our queue no. was nearing. Let's just say, I went to the room I was directed to, and within 5 mins I was frantically trying to look for my hubby and son as his number was being called. The nurse was very professional, she explained what were the compulsory (and free) jabs and also the optional jabs, explained to us what she was going to do, and she was rather swift. Then, although we didn't make an appointment with the doctor (I didn't know you had to make 2 separate appointments), our number was called BEFORE we could even walk over to the doctor's office.

The only minus point is that two children are placed in one room, and naturally, they wouldn't be taking their vaccinations at the same time. So one child cries, and scares the other child waiting for his/her vaccinations...

Anyway, inclusive of the time we spent queuing to pay (this is probably the most time consuming part of the visit), we were out within FIFTY MINUTES! Really excellent!
