I went to Dr Wu Li Ping (if I remember her name correctly in full) at AMK in April. I'm tested positive last week. Anyone tried her?

Shasha, why not go to any clinic to do a test?

It might be too early for the test to work. I experienced something similar. I waited 2 weeks before going for 2nd test and the 2nd test shows positive.

Hope to hear something positive from you soon.

I totally agree with a few contributors here that Ying Chun at JE is just so over rated.
I heard about her by words of mouth that lots of couple seeking fertility solutions have seen her and results were good, but her queue numbers were super long.

My mother in law got her name card from friends and urged me to visit her. Since I have heard much, I decided to try. Called at 7.30am just to make that stupid appointment at 2pm. But when I was there 15 mins late because I got lost, I realised that making appointment is useless. Patients still get called in by normal call number. In the end, I waited for a full 2 hours before she saw me. The consultation was over in like less than 10mins. I told her i have serious eczema issues which I have not yet found a good doctor for and that my concern is to get my body into a better condition to conceive.

Know what she told me?
1) I cannot eat peanuts or drink alcohol forever because people suffering from eczema can'r do that.
2) She ask me to see, yes, no need to guess ---> Dr Chris Chen from Gleneagles. When I told her I am already seeing a gynae at Gleneagles, she say, oh, I am sure Dr Chen is better.
3) She asked me to show her my blood test report from my existing gynae. And she told me to check for swollen ovaries.

What I do not like about her:
1) She is plain rude. I was thinking if it was because I was her last few patients and she got all tired and vexed that she vent her frastuation on me. When she said about my sinus issue and I couldn't comprehend and response with a "huh?" She shouted at me : You got sinus issue lah, understand or not?!"
2) Prior to seeing her, I have already seen my gynae, he went thru pelvic exam, uterus and ovaries scanning, everything is ok, even my hormonal blood test is fine. I wonder why the hell did she think that my ovaries are swollen.
3) I took immunosuppressants for my skin issues when I was seeing her and that she told me to stop it. Only eat her medicine
4) I don't feel comfortable with her recommending me to a gynae. My idea of seeing a TCM sinseh is that, I probably wanted alternate opinions because I have already consulted a gynae. He is Dr Seng Shay Way, son of Dr Seng Kwang Meng. If I were to go back to another gynae, then what is the point of me seeing TCM doctor? Back to square one?

I am not trying to discredit Dr Chris Chen, I am sure he is good as he is, but I just do not feel comfortable about this "referring" thingy. Seeing post that Dr Chris says he doesn't know her, if someone were to keep referring patients to you, won't you feel the urge to find out who he/she is? And there are so many gynae in singapore, many who are equally creditable, why and how did she single him out? By hear say? Personally, I don't feel good about a doctor who cause me to have more questions after seeing the doctor. She may be good previously, but who knows maybe after she got "famous", her attitude simply slacked?

When I saw her, I was already seeing a dermatologist at Gleneagles. (I gave up on her and agree to go for a series of blood tests, biopsy and all) I was diagnose with acute eczema but it is related to severe food allergy. Of all things, eggs, dairy and yeast. I can happily eat peanuts. (but no wine because of yeast)

Recently I am seeing another TCM doc - Dr Yu zhe kai. If anyone can remember, he was in a bit of a fix for sending smses to his ex patients from eu yan seng to inform them that he had set up a private practice. A male patient reported him and he had to post an apology advert on newspapers.
However, I would like to say that this has got nothing to do with his medical skills. He is a wonderful sinseh. He asked each and every details of myself and my husband. Pay attention to our existing conditions and gave us due treatment. I was having issues with thin uterus lining after my immunosuppressants. My menses flow were so light, it is gone in a day after a few drops. He told me that his medicine can be taken with my western medicine, so long as it is taken after 2 hours apart. He got vast knowledge about western medication and told me that I cannot stop my western medication just like that. The effects is dire. This is something that the doctor at Ying chun oppose. She told me to just stop.
Anyway, after 2 weeks of medication, My menses flow as per normal like before.
In fact, I was really glad that he made a blunder by doing something "illegal" -- as in sending soliciting smses to his ex-patients from eu yan seng. Because my sis in law was one of those who got it. She said that Dr yu told her, you take these medicine, not long after, I will give you "an tai yao" (medicine to stable the baby) already. And he was right. My sis in law is 6 mths preggy now. And she introduced him to me.

sorry for the long post...

Hi Gingertea,

U may go to poly clinic to get referral letter to KKH. Most the infertility tests cost will be under subsidy if u have the referral letter. However, u will not get the same doc during consultation unless u go for private which will cost more..

Hope this will help u...

Hi gingertea,
Like what ocean7981 have mentioned, you can get a referral letter to a specialist at polyclinic to get subsidised rate. Going to GP for a referral letter will still be expensive. Almost the same as walk-ins.
I did not get any referral because my gynae was recommended to me by my friends. Both my lady friends went to the same gynae...but I dragged too long to make a trip down because I wanted to solve my skin issues. In the end, by the time I made up my mind, the elder Dr Seng passed away due to heart attack I think. -_-" haiz...no fate. But the younger Dr Seng is also not bad lah. Nice, professional , patience etc.

usually government hospital hae to wait, and consultation time very short..cos they got too many patients. That is why I prefer private. But must pay lor. My tests was about $250+++ I think, then my husband's also around that price.

I think its the usual unless you have specific problem?
Like sperm count for husband, scan for women, blood test to check hormones level...etc etc? Not sure for other ladies?

I went KKH for the check end last year. I did blood tests, which there are specific dates counting from day 1 of your mensus to extract blood, checking if my fallopian tube is block, and scanning of the womb, to see if there is lump and other abnormality. My hubby went for sperm count test.
Funny thing is that the diagnosis after all the test is exactly what my TCM had diagnose a year before, by just taking our pulse. Of course we don't believe then.
After the KKH check-up, the doctors recommended us IVF and suggested that I also remove the small lump in my womb. Made appointment for the op but I found out I'm pregnant before the op. :)

I went for TCM at middle road 6 months. drank yucky brown mixtures everyday from them, even at office amidst raised eyebrows. No success. Then gave up after having to wait almost 2 hrs at each appointment. Next go do iui. And then, immed pregnant thereafter. I should not have wasted $$$ n time on incompetent TCM docs. Time is of essence to women TTCing!

I have just switched from Dr Loh (Thong Chai) to Dr Tan (Clementi Ave 3). I live & work in the west side. So it is really difficult to keep taking leave to travel all the way to Thong Chai. Dr Tan is really strict & serious abt the treatment. My only complaint is the medicine he gives are in soooooo many packets, instead of premix all the powder like what Eu Yan Sang does. Just saw him for the first time last week.

Hey just wanted to say that I second your assessment of this Ying Chun sinseh. I shared my experience with this sinseh on other forums before. First visit, she said I have endometriosis, and that I MUST see Dr. Chen. I didn't cos I wasn't comfy with a male gynae. Instead, I went to see Dr. Joycelyn Wong from ACJ, Thomson Medical. Dr. Wong said that there was nothing wrong with my womb.

My second visit to this Yingchun sinseh was even more disastrous! She scolded me for not seeing Dr. Chen, and insisted that Dr. Wong was wrong. Then she diagnosed me with adenomyosis. Er. Like hello???

I never will go back to see her, ever again.
