do you tink i shld stick to my 2nd gynae mah ?? i feel comfortable w him but nt e 1st 1 dats y i switched but e charges r scarring me off dats y i need to know any reasons ere mayb if its so expensive. and also for my next appt i need to sign up for e antenatal package @ $700 , blood test @ $240 n downsydrome test @ $67 expensive or nt ????? n oso hw do we calculate the max medisave that we can claim for all these charges- antenatal charges, delivery charges, maternaity ( hosp) charges????? both hubby n me are quite worried abt all e charges as i m nt working @ all from e day i knew i was preggy nw @ 11wks. as my gynae can deliver both @ tmc or mt A thereofore any break down of any lastest hospital charges would definitly help alot.......thk you so much for all info provided.........*worried*

from what i usually read on the forum, private hos bill are pretty high and have to top up cash.. amt claimable from medisave is lesser than subsidies patients.

$700 package is not consider expensive.. I think it's average, normally is ard $550 to $800.. my package is also $700.. As for the down syndrome test, my gynae told me it was about $300 but i didnt take.. as for blood test i forgot alrdy, but if u wanna noe, i can go check bk my receipt. =)

i think if u're comfortable with this gynae, just stick to him... a gynae must be someone u're comfortable with and trusted on.. the 1st visit $200+ might because tt's ur 1st visit..

mostly 1st visit more ex de.. and they also wanna "encourage" u to take up package which is much more worth it as frm abt 30 weeks onwards checkup is 3week, den 2 weeks den 36weeks onwards is once a week.. if u take up package, u dun hav to pay consultation, scanning, urine test seperately cos all these r inside the package.. =)

as for the hospital, i saw from other thread that TMC seems to rise the price since last yr?? actu i'm also quite interested to noe the hospital charges as i'm same as u, hubby is currently the sole breadwinner. LOL...

Hi dear, actually for your package, it's considered pretty reasonable. Relating to down syndrome testing, like regina - i didn't do it. For blood test I paid around 80+.

Choosing a gynae that you have trust in and feels comfortable is important. This helps to lessen your stress during pregnancy.

I am currently seeing my gynae who is over at TMC and will be delivering there.

If you would like to find out more on the latest hospital bill, you may want to visit the MOH website where they update monthly to show the size of the bill. It will be a good gauge of you will be paying and such.

darling, did u mess up the price?? maybe the $67 is blood test and the $200++ is for down?? cos i rmd down test isn't cheap leh... LOL...

i didnt take the test cos my gynae said for my age, i can choose whether to take or not. btw i'm 21 this yr aft my bday..

ya no wk.. cos aft married wanna find job liao but on the way finding, jiu preggy liao... lol...

everyday at hm watch tv, online lo and do some simple hsewk... only go out if my mum is free or when hubby off day.. cos nw tummy big liao go out will feel v "heavy" lol.. my meals?? u mean wat i usually eat?? i anyhow eat leh... see my hse got wat food jiu eat, can stuff sth into my tummy for the lil one can liao.. hahahha u beri funni lei but dats gd to be . bb come out oso happy de *kai xin bao bao * hmmm actuli i wanted to deliver @ Glen very much cse both my sisters in-law delivered @ Glen n i feel comfortbale with that plc oso but nw dat i changed gynae boh pian le. i,m tinking of mt A cse my gynae can deliver both @ tmc or mt A. read thro tis forum quite a bit then find mt A like more affordable n comfortable oso as compared to tmc. when ur edd? hw abt urself any hosp in mind?

alot ppl gif birth at mt A & tmc for private hospital.. i'm giving birth at tmc cos i think my gynae only delivers there... my edd is 13june.. urs?? u nw still dunno baby's gender??

actu last time tot of KKH de.. but went there for an appt and realised their waiting time v long.. and aft some compare, actu price are ard e same if gif birth at private, just tt governement hospital can use more medisave i think..

wow i still hv a long way to go ..... both o u edd so near wor n both @ tmc who noes u might bump into each other w/o actuli knowing unless u guys bring ur laptops hahhahahahahaa. well my edd 15th oct ..............nw i oni 12wks nia . next appt then wil noe bb gender but my mummy,hubby n myself feels like bb is boy cse a lot o patterns 1 min hungry i min vomit i min ok blah blah.....hubby oso say more or less mtb will feel it de but i do hope 4 a gal cse can dress up blah blah everytin pink pink n girl girl closer but then again hard to say its after all ur bb will love e child to bits. btw do i need to decide oredi by next appt which hospital i would like to opt for or i can still wait???????

pink kitty: my previous gynae INSISTED on me doing that down sym test, she literally get the nurse to "FORCE" me and hubby to choose between that two dates she is available. Exclaiming must be on either of that two dates. Furthermore, her nurse is really very rude to my hubby - as we requested for them to reprint all the receipts since they have spelled my name wrongly more than once.

We went home and seek my in laws advice regarding the down sym test, fil and mil are shocked and said that it shouldn't be the case as I am not in my 30s yet. Hence hubby rang the clinic and let them know our decision.

Guess what? The gynae asked immediately - why are we rejecting this test and what happened if the baby has it and all?

Need not to say - hubby and I were fuming mad and we just cancelled my next checkup, obtain all my medical reports and go to my current gynae.

haha seems lik nowadays lotsa mummies prefer galgal.. lol.. but as long as baby is healthy & normal, i think u'll be v satisfied alrdy rite? haha..mine is a boy and everytime during the scan can see one of his leg on another, "kiao ka"

dun nd to fast decide de.. i think ard 3rd trimester?? i know for tmc, 3rd trimester (about 32weeks lik tt) nd to book bed le..

in e meantime mayb u can go do some "research" on the 2 hospital. haha..
