Bleeding after taking Utrogestan

Am 6w+-6days
Had little pink discharge, gynae prescribed Utrogestan to be inserted vaginally once every night.
The 2nd morning, I had a significant amount of brownish dark red discharge and a few blood clots in the toilet bowl.
I panicked.
Went back to gynae, he said it is "threatened abortion". WTH.
Asked me to continue with the insert and monitor bleeding.
Apart from the morning incident, no bleeding as of then, but a little pea-sized light brown discharge.

Anyone had side effects from vaginal utrogestan?

Hi Scarlet... utrogestan is something like a an tai yao leh.. i think u should change gynae for better treatment... why were you given utrogestan at the first place? normally these treatment will be given to those MTBS in early pregnancy have pregnancy instability... i was given duphaston during my first tri due to brown discharge all the time... but it stopped now.... what exactly happen?

Was given the meds cos of brown discharge. I went to get a second opinion n things are better... Saw baby's heartbeat. Bleeding has ceased. Thanks for replying
