Can i eat durian?

Hi mummies! Just wondering if i can take durian during first trimester? :001_302: not a big fan of durians but duno y crave for it now. Also huge craving for frog legs porridge but am afraid may harm baby so didnt eat. can i take these two?:Dancing_tongue:

Yes I would think you can eat these two, but durian is heaty, so eat in moderation....

As for frog legs, if you are those superstisious type, might want to ask around if eat frog legs, like my mum in law says cannot eat crab if not ur child will be "heng xing ba dao"...old folks tales....

If you crave for something, just eat. :) For Durian is heaty, so dun eat so much. As for frog leg, heard from my MIL is best not to consume during pregnancy. I forgotten the reason le, could be like what Phoebii mummy says. If superstitious then dun eat. :001_302:

Yes some v pantang.....my mum in law tht time oso tell me cannot eat too much orange, watermelon, cannot drink cold drinks, cheng teng.....

But I all take, in moderation, I guess it all depends on urself if you believe or not

I did not take crabs or other forms of seafood during pregnancy cos' scared might cause any form of allergy to my bb tht time, just precaution

HAha... my hubby also same in the beginning.. but slowly he give me more freedom... just don't over eat should be ok... as for crabs & sotong... it depends ba.. some scare the kids when come out will touch here & there..

for first trimester better eat in moderation for everything. i ate A LOT of durians (about 10 seeds) during my 2nd trimester, but so far nothing bad happened. :) i ate a lot of it because im naturally thin and that's one way to fatten up baby because it's rich in carbo.. ;P

I took almost everything, durians, crab, prawn, frog leg, cold drink etc but I don tk coke at all cos of caffine. I'm also not a coffee drinker n don tk raw foods. Everything tk in moderate amt shall b fine. My deziree is healthy n active n she has strong legs, love to kick here n there n already can hold her head for more than 1 mins when on tummy. I also tk orange, watermelon etc etc. So I think it's up to individual's belief to whether or not to consume those food

wah 10 seeds??hmm thats alot hahaa actually im also very thin weighing only 40kg at 1.59m. wahahaa usually i eat alot coz i dun put on weight but now just 8 wks preggie and i gained 3 kg! abit worried i might get too fat! But after reading all these replies i shall go pig out on durians(ok in moderation i knw)! wheeee:001_302:

aiyo your baby so cute! alot of hair hahaa yup i dun take caffeine stuff as well so im ok w it but i love crabs hehee thanks for ur info anyway!

yes, eat only in moderation..

my mom told me that durian, cold & sweet stuffs (ice cream !!) make the baby big.. if eat too much will cause obesity for the child..

even more important to eat those in moderation if it's ur first child.. ;)

Durian??? u can eat but, don't too much, just for satisfied your cravings.
for safety, better u avoid spicy, soul, deep fried, frozen, windy, coke and cold foods/drinks for early 3 months, to less gas inside your tummy which can make u feel morning sick.

My principle: Everything I can eat, but I must control, don't eat over. think before I eat. try to eat natural foods.
