I used to have irregular period too. You can visit Yu Ren Sheng fertility clinic (paragon). Look for Zhong Xi Min. But her charges are not really cheap.

Hi Cranberry,

I used to have irregular period too plus high fsh level. I saw Dr Tan Kian Sing for accupunture and TCM. He is a friendly and sincere sinseh. All the best.

Thanks for your replies and recommendations. I want to know the possibility of me getting pregnant. Becos I'm way past ovulation but as my period is irregular, it is quite difficult to gauge when is my ovulation right?

yes,you may get some ovulation test strips and monitor your ovulation.
Have unprotected sex whenever possible and eat healthy to maintain good metabolism. You will surely succeed.

Some say missionary position. But don't worry, just little sperm there got enough "soldiers" to get you pregnant. Don't worry too much about the ovulation, stress can also effect ovulation.

Hi Cranberry,

maybe you can consult a gynae? with your irregular menses and all tht or consult a TCM? How long have u been trying to get pregnant? if for abt a year already then my advice is consult a doctor.......if just a few months, then mayb you wanna wait a while more? Dont' stress yourself......and the baby will come :)

Hi SleepyJu,

I am not sure abt the bbt though, but you can look out for sticky mucus, that's normally the sign that you are ovulating, or other signs such as cramp or you can use the ovulating strips like what others suggest.

If all else fail, you can do a blood test to see if you are ovulating

Cranberry,

I also have irregular menses and use the ovulation strips to test for ovulation else I won't be able to catch the right timing. It really did help me and I striked on my 1st attempt using them. Hope it works for you as well. :)

Btw, not to promote, but the test strips are quite expensive if you get them from Watsons/Guardian. And if you have irregular cycles, you might need quite a few strips. You can consider getting the cheaper strips to test and if you don't mind spending, you can use the Clearblue Digital Ovulation to confirm the results from the cheap strips. This is what I am doing as well and helps to save $$$. I do carry both these products at a cheaper price than retail. Check out the link in my signature below.

Sleepyju,

For BBT, you will need to take 1-2 cycles to see the pattern. When your BBT drops and then rise sharply, it means that you have ovulated.

Hi BB Shop,

yes i have jot down the temperatures and roughly seen my own pattern, ovavulating at ard day 13-14..what i mean is my gynae told mi once it rises and stays throughout means gt chance that is preg..my temp drop from 37 to 36.8 and 37 again and down abit again..

so tinking do i still have the chance..waiting waiting for end of this month to test..
breasts very sore and swollen though...wish mi luck!

Better check a Doctor..

I am also had irregular periods before and it took as 3 years to have a baby..
I went to specialist and have me checked and she notice that i have a reversed uterus so I wont get pregnant by stationary position.

You should visit your doctor for better explanation

HELP!!!!!

2 weeks ago, i tested and saw 2 lines on the ovulation stripe. then proceed to try to concieve. last weekend, there were very little bleeding which i dont think it's menses. cos it's still too early and doesnt seem like normal menses. the blood was brown and dry. i tot mayb it's implantation bleeding so i tested on monday but received negative result.

today for fun, i used the ovulation stripe and saw 2 lines again. so omg, could i be ovulating twice a month?!?!

i googled and found out oestrogen(ovulation hormone) is also produced during pregnancy. so i tested again for pregnancy but negative. hais.

could it be ovulation again? shld i try to concieve again today??

Hi cranberry,

Normally it is not advisable to BD in 2ww, which is what you are in.

From what you have said, it is possible that you have implantation bleeding and yes, it is possible that during pregnancy, your ovulation strips will also turn positive. Counting from last weekend, it is at most 7 days since the implantation bleeding (if it was that) and if so, it might still be too early to detect the HCG levels if really pregnant. I would say to give it a few more days and then test for pregnancy again as yours could be a case of late implantation. Good luck! :)
