i will try to celebrate my dds birthday every year. But I don't do a big party thingy altho very tempted but....
anyway, for me, I never celebrated any of my birthdays after my dad passed away when I was three. and I never knew when my birthday is until P6 when we have to make our ICs.
So birthdays are very precious to me

B'days to me are happy and special occasions . It's like bdays are not a everyday kinda thing . So I will try to make every bday special for my DS .
When I was young my parents nvr fail to celebrate bday with me and as I remember that happy kinda feeling . With cakes and pressies .
So I would love my child to feel the same way too .

I intend to celebrate till as long as can . It would be great if every year can celebrate .

so the more should be celebrate with own family nia. no point going thru the hassle of inviting guests, only to have them complain behind your back that your food is so-so...and that they have to go thru the hassle to make time and travel jus cos you invited them.

Ds full month I invited relatives and friends as well .
I'm also use to be shy and anti social type but I learn to socialise so not tt anti social nw .

But every year we still have a small celebration with close family members.
Every yr my dh will ask me when will i stop celebrating the kids birthdays with others. He want to have just a personal thingy kinda celebration.
Today i hv just told him, "how long can u celebrate for the kids, when they grow up & hv own friends, you want to celebrate for them they oso dun want liao" :001_302:

I do invite friends as well . A get together with my family members and friends celebrating its great . Though celebrating with own family is gd in a way but I find it boring . The more the merrier . I always love this kinda feeling . :001_302:

My Dh agrees tt it's a must to celebrate kids bday every year .
Maybe u can celebrate on 2 different days ?
Im already planning for my DS 1st bday thou its like 4 mths away . Since the actual day will be on a weekday . Actual day will be spent with family . Dh , Me and DS .
Then I will celebrate earlier with My other family members and friends on a weekend . Like that wont really clash ma .
I stopped celebrating my bday with my parents when I'm 15 . I feel they must hv been so disappointed too . I rather spent my bday with friends then parents lo . Last time I use to think tt family celebration is kinda boring so I choose to celebrate with friends better . Lol ! =p

is viki leh~ :tlaugh: btw i agree on ur part where bday is happy thing to celebrate n given to me i will celebrate my ds's bday as long as i live be it simple celebrate or wat but still will celebrate. Bday cake is a muz aso, i rmb since pri skool my family dun celebrate my bday wif me n even 4get abt it. It until wif dh then got bday cake :wong7: It great to haf sum1 always rmb ur bday even it is juz 1 person so i wan my ds to feel tis way too.

We celebrated during the 1st mth and 1st bday, then we will just buy bday cake and celebrate among ourselve.
A friend told me that his sister celebrate her kids bday every year, then 1 year din celebrate 1 kid bday, that kid said the mum was unfair.
I agreed with jedamum.

My Ds1 birthday always fall on 1st day of sept skool holi
In pre-nursery & nursery i celebrated for him in sch. in the last day of sch term
But tis yr,in K1, he nvr ask for tat, if he celebrates will be today.
Kinda regret for not ordering cake for sch celebration.
Think abt it he will oni enjoy for 4 yrs, pri sch will not hv tat any more.

I didn't know some people do not celebrate kids b'day till i stumbled upon this thread .
Celebrating in school is a gd idea .
Do u give out gift packs etc ?
