climbing on playpen and playard

How do I stopped my son from climbing the play pen and playard, he nearly fell over the other time (he was pulling himself up to the waist area already to get out of the playpen), good thing I was there fast enough to catch him.

When we tell him no, he still do it, we tried distracting him when he wants to climb but after awhile he is trying to climb again:nah:

i dink this is a natural phase for kids to go thru coz they usually become height explorers sometime close to 1 yo.

what i did was i will wave a cane at him or spank him on his legs to warn him that it is a dangerous move or scold him upside down. Got to be pretty stern just once and the message will be drilled into them permanently.
