Lingz: sure :)
Miso, my girl also farting a lot and super loud somemore, esp at night. Another way is to bring up her knees and rotate in clockwise direction. When I do that in the middle of her fussing, she'll calm down.

Wahh.. piglim steady leh.. still can think of tahan so long till son go sch!!

Mummies in confinement.. u all can tahan dont wash hair siah.. 12days.. haha i washed on 4th day also i think.. 1st day jus gave birth.. thot i can bathe in hospital.. but haha numb frm epidural siah.. then 2nd day before discharge wanna bathe.. wahh so cold.. 3rd day at MIL place liao.. ask me bathe dont wash hair.. ask me tahan.. 4th day i tell her i gg wash hair! Hehe but i bathe with herb water.. it is said that whether use herb or plain water in contact with our body and hands.. it should be boiled water.. as in likr boiled then cooled also can.. so long not tap water..

Anyone washes dishes and mill bottles till hand ache?? Everytime i wash.. i will dry immediately and avoid direct wind.. but after sleep will ache.. then i realised! I shud keep my hands inside blanket too.. really helps!!

Tannie, I find the food alright. Some not bad in fact. But the soup is not to my taste. I still finish them thou to meet the fluid intake for breastfeeding. Portion wise a bit too much so I tend to have leftovers for hubby to eat. Haha... But after 2weeks of eating their food thou they rotate the menu on a weekly basis, I'm getting sick of the food already. Can't wait to eat food from the outside world.

anyway, any ideas on how to deal with colic? My bb seems to be having it. Been fussing a lot more n screams rather than cry sometimes. She also tend to spit up milk almost after every feed despite us burping her. She is also farting a lot. I'm getting worried.
Miso
Its a vicious cycle.. cry will take in more air hence will result in more bloatedness.. so pain then cry and yeah.. my #1 last time i try to keep her crying short... i also put her on a big soft pillow to make her 30deg up after her feed if i am not carrying her.. i was very bad with burping.. pat until 15min also dont have.. my MIL sometimes can sometimes cannot..

I remember before she full mth.. i boh bianz feed gripe water.. but little dosage.. put into her milk.. it seems to help!! Dunno if u wanna try... and see if when she cry.. does she arch her back and pull up legs.. coz those are signs of tummy crampz..

I sdd tap water to the hetb water cause the herb water is too hot n little for me too. Actually I dun really bother, cause I also use tap water to wash below every time go toilet. .. n also wash dishes etc.

For colic, I also use ruyi oil... so far so good.

Congrats jeerin! I took epidural both times.. I tink ok leh.. e backache tat ppl say will have I have.. but I tink is due to poor posture during bfing, nt so much cos of epidural ba.. so dun worry ya? Ur first bb? If so dun fret.. milk dun kick in so early.. now is colostrum which is gd enuff.. jus latch and latch bb to stimulate supply.. for my #1.. mature milk onli came in like 6-7 days post delivery.. so is normal ya? So should I formula feed him in this meantime? I have a bad butt ache right now. Is it normal?

Hmm.. breastfeeding advocates group says tat actualli colostrum is sufficient to last e bb till mature milk kicks in la.. cos bb are born with reserves.. but.. I caved in and fed my bb formula cos he seems hungry after latching.. I onli stopped formula after I established milk supply.. so it is realli up to u..

As for the butt ache.. issit tailbone ache? I had it after delivery too but it's cos my stitches were too sore so I didnt dare move much.. as a result my joints were all stiff and sitting down so much contributed to e ache.. it went away after I started getting out of bed and moving ard.. if it concerns u, ask ur gynae?

Yes is tailbone aching. Mine is so bad even after I walk it doesnt goes off. Just hope it goes off soon. It hinders me from taking good care of baby because I cant sit or stand well.

Hi Jeerin
Congrats! I think your tailbone ache is due to the long labour.
I also took epidural and i avoided from bending my back when i change baby etc. I will squat instead. so i dint have backache though i carry baby and bad bf posture.. haha but my tailbone pain is horrible and keep having bubble popping sounds when i sit or move. I cannot sit for long cannot stand for long. N i cannot stand up immediately after i sit. have to wait for pain to ease out. I googled before and seems like this is a tailbone injury due to prolonged pushing during labour. I guess i must have hurt it as the nurses and docs were practically jumping on my tummy to help push already haha

Give it some time. it will heal.. but if by 6 weeks still very bad.. do check with gynae during your post natal check! Take care!

Congrats jeerin! hmm i also experience the tailbone pain.. Like how Lingz12 describe, i experience stitches n piles pain., den on the hosp bed, i had to squirm in pain, all butt muscles also ache, plus tailbone no strength.. I think it takes awhile to regain strength in the muscles there.. Bb pushed downwards as he or she came out, hence sometimes we may have injured our tailbone.. I totally couldn't sit up properly or stand in the hosp.. Had to had alot of support or struggle in pain to go toilet... But it gets better by the day.. I'm still in extreme pain down there due to severe piles and thighs also pain.. We need to try to get a gd posture for breastfeeding, if not will suffer further backache for next few mths.. I suffered backache for afew mths for my #1.. Now i get a breastfeeding pillow so i can sit up straight..

i am experiencing bad uterus contractions these days too.. Couldn't stand up this morn after latching.. :p guess its all part n parcel.. I'm taking all the painkillers that gynae gave..
