I did checked with my gynae, he says it does not affect the baby do dont worry

Can try take this chinese herb then Astragalus ( Huang Qi ) 黃耆, its like a chinese Vit C to boost immune system, can use it to cook soup or such,
as im ok with Vit C I have been taking sunkist regularly and till now no sinus. If not try to eat fruits
I checked with my gynae he says as long as i dont take dang gui its ok, maybe you can check with your gynae or TCM.

Dont cook them too long though high heat kills the Vit C

Silly qns: How do you guys know about low lying placenta? Does your gynea measure physically? When I see mine at kkh she only does scan for me. Will the scan show re placenta positioning?

i think during 10-12 week scan doc will confirm that the placenta grown properly...
for me just happened that i got unexplained bleeding so doc measure the end of the placenta right at the cervix. so confirmed its abit low. maybe most ppl's placenta grow at a safer place so doc nvr say..

Hi all, I had low lying placenta for my first girl too. And my gynae says most will slowly move up. Mine did move up and he wasn't too worried.

My gyane told me at 10 weeks that baby looks like a boy, then at 14 weeks he told me maybe girl but cannot confirm anything till at least 16-18 weeks cos their parts havent formed yet..

So curious! ANyone discovered their baby gender earlier? So lucky!

TVH, don't worry too much, , I think ur condition will improve as long as u follow Dr instructions. I was having some instability issue during first trimester, Dr gave me instructions not to do list n ask me bed rest for 2 weeks. I did everything he said n I'm ok now =)

Joyfulmun, I'm doing detail scan next Mon. Mine comes as package with Oscar scan, cost ard 480. Which hospital is yours

Thanks Faithmummy, ya I guess better to be safe than sorry...sigh....been looking fwd to the trip...but I wouldnt want to risk my pregnancy for a few days of fun...

Hope my placenta would move up in the later stages. Gynae said if it becomes placenta previa, I can only deliver thru c sect. I so much want to push my baby out.

I wasn't allowed by my family to travel during my first pregnancy but the doctor encourage me to take a break. Do what you feel is right as long as you don't tired yourself too much. You also need to take care of the emotional health. Most low lying placenta will move out of the way. You can visualize your placenta moving up. Visualisation is powerful. Focus on the positive side.

by the way, can anyone help me to get rid of the icon below? Can't figure out how to do it.

joyfulmum, I'm with gleneagles too but my gynae referred me to NUH for my major scans like OSCAR and FA. It's a lot cheaper than gleneagles.

Just found out from a few friends that they too have low placenta during their 2nd trimester too and by the 8th month, the placenta had moved up. I am just disappointed that I couldn't travel now as I've been looking fwd to a break. I really do hope my placenta will be guai guai and auto shift up.

Btw joyfulmum, if you must know, I did my OSCAR at NUH for $235. I haven't had my FA Scan yet but my friend did hers at NUH and it cost $160. So getting referred to a public hospital is way cheaper.

Hey

Don't be stressed by all these medical terms. sometimes it is just a medical term and doesn't really affect us and our babies!
For my first girl, I was told that I may have a short cervix, which I googled and got worried that I may have an early delivery since the cervix is short and may not be able to hold the placenta. but later at another scan with internal probe, the result was that my cervix was okay. and i worried for nothing over a month (that time my gynae visits were monthly).

whether low or high placenta or not, there is nothing much you can do except try to get more rest than normal. so the best thing is, to take care of yourself emotionally (focus on being happy!) and physically (take supplements, avoid heaty or cooling food, etc)...

try to enjoy your pregnancy!
