First time father here. EDD for my DG is mid Jan 09. Any advice on what to get or prepare now?

Welcome!

U can start getting milk bottles, diapers, decide if put bb in cot or sarong...etc.

Anyway a quick list for u here to share (based on wat i bou last time)

List of items to buy for newborn bb
1. Milk bottle - Avent - get 1 or 2 and some teets for replacement (one for milk one for plain water) Also depends if yr wife gonna breastfeed...if yes no need to get two bottles. Also standby a breast pump.
2. BB clothes, get more 3m + 6m clothings coz they outgrew v fast. Get 1 or 2 pcs of newborn clothings will do. If u have friends get fr them old clothings even beta.
3. Rem to get some bb mittens, booties...
4. Oso pyjamas can get older ones, ie 6m onwards.. bigger oso more comfy to sleep in.
5. bb blanket for swaddling
6. Newborn diapers
7. Newborn caps/hats dunno wats the exact word..
8. Thermos Flask - for making formula milk when outside

List of items to buy for yr wife
1. maternity pads
2. disposable panties for maternity
3. dry shampoo
4. confinement wines - DOM/Yomeishu/Those Tonic wines etc.

Tats abt all tat i can think of at the moment...

Erm.. Think confinement wines dun need to buy, ur frens & relatives will buy.. LOL.

welcome and congrats! my DD's EDD is also Jan 09! hahaha....

add on:

1) bring along your marriage certs, bank book to apply for baby bonus,
and birth cert, if you have choosen a name already.

2) bring all receipts to claim for the medisave parenthood package.
(I filed all in a clear folder and my DH just passed the whole file to the officer who will do the necessary)

3) cord blood banking kit (if you signed up to save your BB;s cord blood)

4) get ready the delivery bag by mid dec in case BB wants to come out early!

5) camera/video cam to capture the first moments!

6) adapator for HP/Camcera/Video Cam (they will go low batt fast)!


for your wife:
1)prepare a tin of milo at home (cannot drink plain water, even warm also cannot)
other then drinking red dates tea.

2)disposable panties, buy a bigger size so that she wear be more comfy in it.
powder (whether she want to bath anot, powder is good when sweat)

3) confinement wine - huiji waist tonic (the rest ppl will buy), actually can start to drink Huiji now.

for Baby

1) pram/cot/sarong/swinging cradle
2) a new set of newborn clothes to wear for home/a new set for full month (with mittens and booties)
3) new born diapers (i am using mammy poko)
4) breast pump for BF( prepare a few bottles for storage in case bb does not want to latch on)
5) sterlizer

I just found out that u can edit yr own user title to Male

You have to be use Male as your gender in order to use this function.

1. Logged into MummySG
2. Click on UserCP (top left hand corner)
3. Scroll all the way to the end
4. Click on Group Membership on the left navigation panel
5. Check on Identify me as a member of this group (Daddy)
6. Click on Update Display group

Also this is a fixed user title regardless the number of your posts
