Hi Mummies & MTBs,

Gynae said that I've been gaining too much weight, and it's bad for my baby, what should I do?
I'm really worried...

Pre-preganany weight: 55kg
27 weeks pregnant: 66kg

Am I really gaining too much weight?
I so feel like crying out...

actually it really varies .. most of my friends gained quite a lot ranging from b4 pregnancy to after some gain like 16kgs to 26 kgs. but some ppl gain very little... dun need to worry too much. i think urs is ok... but towards 3rd trimester.. u should watch ur diet carefully.. eat very nutritious food but not fattening. Because ur fetus feeds on nutritions and not the solid itself. the solid goes to u and nutrients to him/her....haha. towards 3rd trimester ur bb will gained weight very very very fast.. so u wouldnt want her to grow too big or u will have problem delivering her/him. Just eat sensibly and exercise regularly lor...

For me at 34 weeks, i only gained 5kgs. At first I was very worried i gained too little but gynae say bb now is 2.1kg... and she is fine.

All the best!

Maybe i keep doing house work.. tht's why didnt gain much weight ba.. the whole house onli me & my hubby.. hubby work 12 hours shift... and i work & come back do house work... somemore during these period.. i didn actually increase my meal.. it's still the same as before before i pregnant...

i didnt diet and at the same time i didnt purposely force myself to increase the intake... can eat then eat, can not then stop.

Now i end my work last friday.. maybe more rest i will increase more :D

I'm trying to control my diet now, don't dare to eat too much. If i'm really hungry, I'll go for fruits rather than snacks. But, I still can't help worrying... I'm really afraid, am I getting depression?

Don't stress yrself.... it'll not do the baby or yrself any good at all.

Jus remember to eat healthy food instead of junk... snacking on fruits is an good option but not too much also.

can hv some milk, yougurt & cheese too... not so sweet. :tlaugh:

ur weight gain nt as much as mine wor~ when i am 23wk preg i am already gaining 13kg~ juz 3 more kg is the total weight gain for my #1~ depressing sia i knw but cant diet during pregnancy leh~ :embarrassed:

Is there any heathy food to recommend?
Actually your weight gain may be water retention, could check with your obstetrician on this issue.

Are you really eating twice what you normally eat? In actual fact, what they mean by eating for 2 is not to eat 2x more. but to have more nutritious food :)

Thanks, CanCanMum, I felt much more relieved now...
But I'm still afraid about my weight gain when I go for my next check-up.
