Hi all mommies,

I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Currently under Dr. Irene Chua of KKH care. Any deliveries done by her in this forum? Relatives has been encouraging me to go either Mount E/Thomson/Mount A. But I'm not very sure if I should change as I'm pretty comfortable with Dr. Irene Chua. But she looks so young...so I'm not sure if she has got the experience I need... Can anyone advise me?

Regards,
M&M:shyxxx:

Hi M&M,

Think u must be comfy with yr gynae...but about the young thing....is she a junior? If so i dunno if its beta 4 u to get an experienced one....

dunno how junior gynaes start building trusts in pple....anyway my exp in KKH is 75/100, erm considered ok la.

Bad Things abt KKH:
1) Admin staff very super unfriendly...and unhelpful (during admission and signing up packages)
2) While u r in the delivery suite whichever gynae on duty tat day will attend to u...ur own gynae appears only during delivery tat time...coz he is not on duty ma...so tat on duty doc who checks yr dilation is always different...and they may not know yr medical history and may anyhow decide the solutions for u...like tat time he said i may need emergency c-sect coz my waterbag burst and still no contractions and dilations....HA! In the end i proved him wrong le!!!!m

Good Things abt KKH:
1) Nurses very helpful and super patient...depends on yr luck la...and must socialise a bit coz my DH go and socialise with them....help them carry things....make them happy so tat they will treat me beta.
2) Food very nice, during my 1 day stay in hospital.
3) Errmmm...they are there since 1960s?? Historical site, also experienced??
4) But i must say tat my GYNAE (Male, 40+ fatherly type) is very experienced....knows when to expect what...

Tats about all that i can dink about.

Hope this helps.

Mine was at Mt E, initially supposed to have it at TMC, but i was having SUPER bad first trimester- burn my gullet and vomit blood coz keep throwing up :embarrassed: den my MIL suggested to change to another doc similar to my SIL. My female doc is pro, the rate is oki, but she is very fast in working and dun reali talk much if u dun mind. She will tell u wat to do, and keep assuring u.

I had Csection, the wound was nice and most impt i dun have messy period after tt, she actually helped me to clear away (dun ask me how hahaa).

TMC was at semb, many mama visited her, some even delivered their 2nd or 3rd there too.

Hey dear, most impt is u're comfortable with her and trust her

Hi all! Thank you for the great information. TMC is quite far from my house. Heard a lot of good comments about TMC and have thoughts of changing to TMC. But sadly, my mil isn't agreeable with the idea. She thinks that KKH has got everything. And she mentioned if "choy" if there are any complications, you will still be sent back to KKH. Well... guess I have no choice but to stick with KKH to avoid any arguments or unhappiness.

Thanks girls. Really.

Love,

Oh ya. I've been chatting with some other mommies whose gynae is also Dr. Irene Chua. According to them she has got good delivery skills and also stitching skills. Well. At least that give me some peace of mind. : )

I try to rest when I can. I'll resume my swimming when baby is stabilized. Planning to join yoga classes for pregnant mummies. Heard that it helps with giving birth. Good for mommy as well as baby. : )
