How Do You Clean Your Child's Nose?

ya 'pi sai' quite easy to dig out de, wet one also not tt difficult, quite fun actually! haha. but if u are scared about your child's block nose den bring him go see a pd.

My dh using the 'nose sucker' to suck my dd's mucus........ and he's always the one doing it cos he enjoy, while for me I don't really dare to dig her nose, afraid later I cause her nose sensitive.

There was once my boy got dry big pisai in his nose, i try to use the cotton bud but diff 2 take out. Den wen baby is sleeping, my mom take the dig ear thing (new one) to gently dig out.. wow.. the whole lot drop out.. haha:tlaugh:

yea, sometime the dirt is very big pc, so can't use the cotton bud. use that is good, but dangerous if we aren't that experience..

when my bb has dry dirt in his nose, i'll use the spray given by the pd. it helps to dissolve the dirt. If it's wet, i'll use cotton bud to take it out.

you have your mom to help you.
My mom is the one whose scare of doing these things, in the end I am the one who buck up the courage to do it...hahaha

maybe there's no GP that dares to see, but pd is specialist, they sure have solution for you. cos when mine was only 2weeks old I brought him to his pd. they give him antibiotics, clear the nose spray too.

if normal blocked nose den either use cotton wool or nose cleaner.. but i oni use cotton wool b4 cos e nose cleaner i once bought but donno how to use haha.. seem cant suck leh haha lolxx.. if really serious see doctor loh.. but lesser den 3mths de baby oso no medicine eat wan leh..

am using bb cotton bud. at first son resist wen i try for the first few times.
bt nw, he smiles at me wen i clean his nose. :tlaugh:

Be extremely careful when using the cotton bud thingy.

My DS had stuffy nose since week 2. I was so worried so i bought the pigeon pump with flexible rubber tip. I pump pump also no use, nothing comes out only tears comes out from DS eyes.

Then i brought him see PD. PD gave a nasal spray and he demo and let me see how to remove the mucus from DS nose.

He spray each nostril with the nasal spray then wait a while till you hear the whizzing sound from the nose made by DS then, use the pump. Wa lao... all the green and yellow stuff came out and stored in the pump.
But note that you might have to apply some petroleum jelly at the openings of the nostril before using the pump as it could cause some irritation and the area might become red from the friction.

DS always cries when does the pumping and spraying...but no choice still have to do it leh

for the dry pi sai, i'd use cotton wool (recommend the sterile type if your baby is < 3 mths old & still rather fragile), wet it with cooled boiled water, then twirl to shape it sharp at one end to "drill" into my ds' nostril. use a new one with the other nostril.. works for me so far though my ds doesn't really appreciate it! :001_302:

thank goodness i hv not had to deal with running nose or thick mucus yet... then i think better to consult pd...

I use those mini cotton bauds and wet it with warm water then clean. Easier to come out that way for me. I got the nose sucker too but dunnohow to use. Sighz
