Need advise from mummys with Gestational Diabetes and ANTENATAL DEPRESSION

Hi all,

Can anyone help me im now pregg 7 mths 3 day liao but happen tat my gynee checked out tat I have Gestational Diabetes and I found myself is having antental depression. What should I do ?

Hi Wen,

When I was pregnant, the doc oso found out that my sugar level high, so hv to attend course on diabetes and almost every week hv to poke myself to test & monitor on a weekly timetable and oso hv to monitor what I eat

Do u hv to attend the course too? R u expecting a princess or a prince? when is ur EDD?

Dun worry too much or feel sad, if u feel u need someone to talk to, there are lots of mummies here u can talk to and oso u can talk to ur hubby....most impt is to keep urself happy during pregnancy

You can share if u want to why r u feeling the way u r feeling here if u dun mind........

Im expecting a princess and My EDD: 12 July'09.

my Gynee is giving me 1 more chance before I see specialist. But I think im gtg to fail. Sorry just to ask you during ur pregg with gestational diabetes did u need to jab urself or just taking oval med?
Than wat the cost for med or jab?

Coz of this issues I found my is having antenatal depression.

Hi Wen,

Hmmm that time during routine test I fail, so doc found my glucose level high.....then ask me to attend course after which the nurse at KKH told me that I just need to watch my diet & I need to buy the needles & the gadgets and of course they hv this pieces of paper where I hv to write down what I eat & the blood reading.....the whole this costs me abt 300plus

U said that the gynae will refer u to the specialists meaning? Dun be depress, cos' u hv not take the test yet.....who knows it will be good?

Where will u be delivering ur little princess?

Oic, than do you still remember that during the time did u need to insulin or any med? Or just self control and what the higher level wat u had before and after food?

hmm going to deliver my princess in Mount A. I did my own test last wk-end after food control & exercise I got the idel level but during the night im abit level. So worried gtg to check up tommorrow liao.

Nope I did not need insulin or medication, just monitor what I eat and record down, if it is high, then hv to avoid tht particular food lor.....

So at night mostly ur reading is high, mayb u need to review what u eat for dinner?

Thanks for ur advise. I will try my best to overcome this fear. Im now 30wk liao still got 12 wks to go. I must work hard for this issues coz after knowing I really cut down alot of things and also more exercise so that my sugar level is back to normal.

Just like Phoebii, i also have to control my diet and use needles to poke myself 3times a time....admit tat it was hard at 1st...but feeling the baby movements in me, support frm my hubby & family really helps me alot..

Think u have to control ur diet....although i know it's hard especially u tend to have alot of cravings when u r pregnant... But since i can do it, phoebii can do it, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! Jia you.....You're not alone..baby princess is with u...soon u can get to see her...

Now my bb gal is 13months liao....and she's growing healthy...everything is worth it.....Take care...and dun worry too much ya...

Read aboout your issues, dun worry too much and everything will be fine..I have deliver my boy safely and healthly in Jan'09. Tat time i also got gestational diabetic and its on the high side. I dun need medicine and jab, just need to control my diet and self monitoring of the result. You know, there is a few times my result was damm high > ( '11' after attending wedding dinner). We need to maintain our result below '7' after food and it will be under control. At tat time, im so worried.. after i consult with my gynae, she say better control, but dun worry, once a while still ok. Becos of the diet meal plan, i have also lost weight. My baby is putting on weight but not me. Doc say its ok, if baby weight is not increasing, then there is problem...I'm also very sad, having this diabetic and always blame on myself. But after seeing my boy, the pain is still worth while...

I think diabetes has got nothing to do with jaundice, jaundice is caused cos' newborn normally their system is not mature yet...so most newborn hv jaundice....my sister's son oso got jaundice but she got no diabetes....

Ya c-section is v ex, tht time I had emergency c-section even more ex lor.....cos I thot of gg thru natural, but two wks bf due date, my placenta seperated so in order to save me & bb hv to go for emergency c-section.....

oic ok I really hope nothing will happen la. As for the charges that wat the nurse told me. Hmm this case my gynee say It will be better to deliver earlier in wk 38~ wk 39 coz i got gestational diabetes and also my gal gal already turn down since the past 2 check up till now.
And I called my auntie to change of schedule with my colleague coz she's a confinement lady. Now im running here and there. Again can't sleep again during night time. :embarrassed:

Thanks for ur advise. I will try to relax coz now really alot of thing come @ the same time, I just hear tat my grandma fell sick until v. serious but I can't go and c her. I wish and hope she will get well soon. Hai why everything come @ the same time.....:embarrassed:
