I've called Auntie Irene, she is already booked by other mom :( Btw, I read about Auntie Tian Hua or Mdm Wong in this forum. It is highly recommended by "Mum2bee" in pg 13. Has anyone engage Auntie Tian Hua as confinement lady? how is her attitude and performance? Hope you all can share with me your experience. Thanks in advance!!

The pertinent points below:
1. Supportive of breastfeeding. Willing to bring me baby every 3 hours, even at night if i ask for her. Helps with feeding baby formula milk as supplement after that.

2. Handles baby lovingly, gently and patiently. Can see that baby feels secure when she handles her. Sometimes, she has to carry baby till 3+am when baby is fretful! No complaints!

3. Cooks for my family of 5, lunch and dinner. Granted she doesn't do much housework like mopping of floor in baby room as we have a domestic helper. But it does show that she's a give and take person, which is quite important for me! I'd not want to have a confinement lady who's very calculative!

4. While she has her own practices, she is willing to adapt to my request for certain things (which may not be the best afterall since it's mostly textbook teachings from TMC which can't be applied wholesale).

5. I have several dogs at home - she's not one who's afraid of them and will sometimes play with them. This may be helpful to dog owners?

No nonsense of getting to work during her first day before receiving an ang pao etc. Neither did she make unreasonable requests like having to charge extra for climbing up and down the stairs many many times a day, an extra fee i was quoted by some CLs when they heard it's a double storey place!

Where is Yr mum staying? Singaporean right? If I only just wan to hav a day time CL, only bath for baby and wash my and baby clothes, can be done?? My edd is in sep 11.

However, I didnt know about this, hospital's confinement food comes with herbal chicken, I ate the whole bowl. Plus, my grandma boil black chicken, I drank all. I was in great pain the first week. Lucky my nanny know how to help me. She ask me wash with salt water. At first, I thought this confinement nanny is crazy, the wounds sure extremely painful to be contacted with salt water. I still challenge her on this. In the end, I followed her instruction because the pain was unbearable that I have to try. Surprisngly, the next day, the pain almost gone...

My baby has serious blocked nose and was not able to drink well. He wakes up hourly for milk, even at night! Thankfully, my confinement nanny was very patient, she wakes up to feed him without fail. I then brought my baby for a checkup during the 2nd week, the doctor said that by right my baby should be skinny due to his trouble of ingesting well. Surprisingly, he weighs 5.2kg that day (baby at birth weighs 3.6kg). With only 2 weeks plus, he grew so much. My nanny even volunteered to stay for another week after confinement (usually 28 days) to look after the baby with no extra charge!

She said being a confinement nanny is her interest and definitely not because of money. With more than 20 years experience, I trust her to taking care of me and my baby as well. For the one month, she really did a very great job. So mommies, to those who have not found a good, responsible confinement nanny for yourself and is still in dilemma, you may consider her. Message me for her contact details!

Dear mum-to-be

Currently I'm staying with my CL and she's really good and experienced in taking care of my 10 days old son.
She cooks nice food and she's really good in cooking. She will cook non-heaty food for my husband.
She handles my baby so well that I'm worried what will happen if she leaves after 1 month. She has more than 10 years of experience in being a CL and is very responsible.

BTW, she's from Malaysia and charge me $2100 for 28 days. Really nice, caring and patient with babies.

Mummies out there, please be sure that the CL i recommended are my true experiences and sincerely recommending to mummies who is looking for a good confinement lady. AND i only recommend the CL that do for me. So if she cant help you to do confinement and introduce someone else, you may want to be vary and check it out first. Dont get conned. Get their ID details before giving deposit. That's what I did. :)
