Hey, forgot to add that my confinement nanny is a local and can speak English very well. Because she is local, I have to pay a little more since local English speaking nanny are harder to come by. She has even work for indian families before. You can give Jane a call at 84816867. She has a number of local English speaking confinement nannies and even a few who specialises in vegetarian, malay and indian confinement.

Hi All,

Would like to ask, how do you guys normally do the interview for nanny?
Do you guys arrange the appointment and meet up somewhere, or meet up at your house in order for her to see the house environment as well?

Thanks :)

I highly recommend Sister Lilian from M'sia.. unfortunately i lost her contact number when my phone crashed so can't provide any number. But she should be quite frequently mentioned on the forums liao. Main thing to look out for is to have face to face session with yr nanny before agreeing anything. Otherwise- things will be quite awkward if meeting for first time and can't see eye to eye.

Hi, I am currently doing my confinement and would like to intro my confinement lady. She will be available in march 2012. She only does day confinement (9am-6pm). No overnight. She is very pro breast feeding and will bring baby to you whenever you want to breastfeed. Cooks for my hubby and son too and does simple household chores. She very clean too, washes her hands before handling baby and she keeps my kitchen clean and neat. So far I am very satisfied with her performance. Anyone interested to hire her can pm me with your contact and I'll get her to call you back as she is with me now.

Hi mummies

I am currently doing my confinement and just given birth to a baby. Luckily this confinement nanny of mine took great care of my baby and me as i had post natal blue before she arrived. So glad she solved all my problems when she's here.

She is good at handling new born and her cooking is great too. You may reach her @ 012 7827387 or @ +65 8381 2332. Her name is "Auntie Mei" she comes from Perak.

If you prefer to SMS her, plse text her in " Chinese characters" she will responds ASAP.

She is available after my confinement ends on 8 Jan'12.Her next assignment in singapore is taken up in May'12.

Cheers!

Cheers

I actually managed to interview mine in person as she was on an assignment here.
Got her through www.confinementladysg.com

The founder (I think her name is Jane), is very nice and understanding. She sensed my discomfort with engaging someone whom I have not met before and was kind enough to drive her confinement nanny (who happen to be here on another assignment) to my house and let me interview her.

Needless to say, I felt more confident after talking to the nanny in person and eventually engaged her. I must say the money is well-spent. The nanny is very good with baby, not domineering and provided me with a lot of encouragement and support in my attempt in breastfeeding.

But I suppose this doesnt happen all the time. Since most confinement nannies come from malaysia, the most we can do is to have a phone interview and trust our instinct.
