Pump Milk while Travelling

Hi mommies,

Do you pump during those nights still when travelling overseas?

Wondering if it is impossible to pump and store milk while travelling? Thus, does that mean we have to discard the excess milk?

Thanks!

Hi Knut29,

Yes. I pumped whenever I can during travel. When there is no fridge in hotel room, I will pump and pour away. This is to ensure I can breastfeed her when I return.
If there is a fridge, I will store only 2 days prior my return to my baby. And I bring along a small cooler with ice pack. Hand carry. So need to declare at airport check. For US travel, they will take and test the contents by swiping the outside of the bottle/ bag of the breastmilk. Some airlines have strict guidelines about fluids. So should not be above 10 bottles/bags of 100ml breastmilk (so total 1litre is allowed).
Hope this helps.
