Remove biological father's name from BC

Hi,my friend is in midst of divorce proceedings & wants to find out if she can remove the name of her husband in her child's bc.
Hope some parents can help to elaborate what are the procedures & costs.

first of all, removing his name - this is not a small issue. infact what is the reason behind so?
removing his name means stripping off all the natural father's rights. mcys will be in charge of investigation before it is presented to the family court as child is a minor.
