I'm a SAHM too and I opt to send my daughter to playgroup when she was over 2yrs old. I found that I wasn't able to give her enough mental stimulation and she was getting bored at home. I purposely looked for one that did not incorporate a childcare. I liked the fact that class ends the same time for all the kids. It is a Montessori Kindergarten that offers playgroup starting from 18mths. Now she has moved on to Nursery 1. She seems to enjoy school and that's what's important.

Childcare is half day or whole day...playgroup is usually 2-4 hours, depending.

I don't think your child will lose out by not attending playgroup at 2, my elder (4 ys old) is currently in N2 and quite a number of her classmates have not attended playgroup or N1 and they are coping well.

it's a good idea to enrol your girl in playgroup...mainly coz you can get a breather (heehee)

Since you are a SAHM, I dont see a need to send ur girl to CC. CC is mainly for wking parents, nowadays many parents have the idea that kids MUST go to CC but I think otherwise, cos PG or those 3hours prenursery classes are good enough for interaction and learning. My son is 2yo and He is not attending ay classes now but I will be sending him to prenursery next year.

I am a working mum and my son has no choice but to go to a CC.....if you are a stay home mom, I think it depends.....some send the child to PG just so that they will be able to socialise with other children their age...cos' PG is just mainly doing arts, playing, learning musical instrument, story time, learning how to share.....I think basically this is it......

If u have no time to teach,
- working mother suggest fullday, they leaen a lot like my gal
- non working mother - half day is good enought
what they teach/play in school, social with friends, cannot have at home. But must enroll a good school

In my opinion, whether or not we're a working mom, I think it's important to bring our children to preschool once they hit 2 or 3. This is when they start to learn the most and it is good to expose them to as many things as possible. My daughter is currently in mindchamps and I think that she is benefitting from their enrichment programmes. I used to stay home to take care of her but I think I've made a wise choice to send her there. They have gym classes, arts, cooking etc... which is kind of rare compared to the rest of the preschools.

Hi, almon. can I know the school fee is how much ? I totally agreed with you. My 1st daughter join in Age 4, my 2nd daughter join in age 2.5. I can see a lot of different on what they have learn at the same age.
What I want to highligh here is the mother must choose a good school, good teacher then you will see the different on learning path.
A lousy school will make your kids dunt like to go every morning, a good school will make your kids everyday want to go school even Sat & Sun.
