Hello! I just want to check if any mums experience this.
My son is 4 months old and had just gotten his second 5-in-1 jab together with oral rotarix vaccination on Wednesday.
On Wednesday night, we spotted a few red spots on his thigh but didn't think much of it as we thought it's a temporary rash or insect bite.
On Friday night, he started to have red patches on his face, arms and legs. So we decided to bring him to the polyclinic on Saturday morning.
Today (Saturday), we brought him to the polyclinic and got referred to KK A&E. The doctor didn't really know how to diagnose him. So she asked another doctor. The second doctor can't tell much either. So they consulted a senior doctor. There wasn't a conclusive diagnosis but they suspect it's because of the injection. They said that the first vaccination, usually there wouldn't be any reaction. But second time there might be, and the next time my son will have his vaccine, it might be worse.
They wanted to give him syrup, but as he is below 6 months, so they do not give it. Instead, they gave calamine lotion for his rashes. But his rashes ain't itchy nor painful. I don't see him rubbing, scratching or being irritated by it. So I didn't apply. The lotion is to relief the itchiness and doesn't help reducing the rash...
Before we left, they mention that a team from KK who are specialised in allergies of vaccination will call me on Monday or Tuesday..
His rashes is spreading to his stomach and back now.. hopefully it will be gone soon.
I'm kind of worried about the next time he will have an injection..
Anyone's child experience any side effect of vaccination that is not normal?
